(First post at OCUK forums - hi to everyone)
Thanks for the reminder to watch Linus's video. He's probably one of the first unboxing the H100. Though he missed a few things that I would have liked to hear more about.
(1) Software configurable led lighting on the waterblock of a colour of your choice.
(2) How the stock fans compare to the SP120s. I will be keeping my SP120s because I cannot give up my beloved red rims. Though I would like to know whether the stock fans are more akin to the high performance edition or the quiet edition. What are the rpms, airflow and noise levels for the stock fans?
(3) The fact that there appear to only two fan leads as opposed to four. I'm rather puzzled by this because, even though, I only use two in push exhaust configuration (with other fans due to go into the lamptron fc5v2) I imagine others will want to use push-pull. How are they going to do that?
Correction: ignore this - this is wrong - it has four.
(4) A quick demo of the corsair link software working with the cooler.
TastyPCTV - if you're reading this - you should cover the above in addition to everything else for a kick ass review!
Personally I love the rubber tubing, the new waterblock compact glossy design, the marginally larger radiator and the new stock fans (though why oh why did they make them grey when everything else is black).
I just finished my first pc build ever recently and had bought and fitted an H100 as part of that. However it came with one screwhole too big so amazon have agreed to take it back. So I've preordered the H100i from OCUK and when it arrives I'll send the old one back to amazon. Luckily I have a year to send it back to amazon since it's faulty. Lol. You've got to love warranty from the retailer as well as the manufacturer. The customer can't lose!
Anyway, hopefully, I'll see the H100i arrive in the next week or two from OCUK and I'll report back as to how much of an improvement it provides. My current i7-3770k at stock clocks (as I'm new to overclocking) stays at 15-23C at idle. Need to test with Prime95 for load temps but I expect it'll do just fine.
My primary problem with the new build is not the CPU or the MB temps which stay at around 20C and 35C at idle. It's the two asus matrix hd platinum cards that remain at around 55C at idle. Need to figure out what's going on there. I wish there was as easy a solution as a sealed liquid loop to integrate into gpus with large radiator surface area.
Update: Point (3) above is wrong. It has four. My mistake.
