The H80 had 2 fans and the screws went through the entire thing and holds it onto the case. My memory is hazy about the number of washers, I can only remember 4 on the H80. Clearly the instructions say there should 8 for the H80i.

They might have changed the package contents after the manual has been finalised or just screwed the manual up, because I just noticed it says fan (singular) as well.

Oh well, as long as it performs as expected then these things can be easily overlooked :)

My h100i turned up this morning. Literally just finished the install and fired up the PC, So obviously too early for any feedback.

Some crappy iphone pics

Just took delivery of a H80i. The quality of packaging is always a pleasure with Corsair products but that soon wore off when I noticed considerably bent fins on both sides and only 4 of the 8 washer for mounting the fans.
Not huge issues really but how can a simply item count and obvious visual damage happen with such an experienced company that has well packaged items
Packaging is marketing, not quality or quality control of product or packaging of product.;) And Corsair has a long record of quality problems.

Problem is people (like you) keep buying Corsair's defective / damaged products so they have no motivation to improve. Even buy products before any reviews / testing is done to know if they are any good or not. which is even more confusing.

I have yet to have a defective or even sub standard component from them. I have had nothing but high performing products. I have/had AX750, 4x1GB XMS2 C4, 4x2GB C5 and H80 (which includes their high static pressure fans).

If u have ever had a dodgy product from corsair, I've had a couple but mainly good, they have always bent over backwards to sort it. That is why I will always buy from them.

Upgraded coolers look great.

I have had a few things go wrong but Corsair has got the best RMA service I have used by far. (although not UK based, still a doddle to return stuff.)

Guys, all corsair RMAs can also go through OcUK if you have a bulky item that will be expensive to return to the netherlands.

give OcUIK a call if your product develops an issue.

we can usually assist to make the RMA process a little easier.

Good to know. Thanks for the heads up.

When I have to RMA or warranty something I expect it not cost me one thin pence... And I know several people who have had to pay post to get RMA to Corsair... including one who won his cooler in a Corsair giveaway. And not only had to send it back once, but replacement which was DOA!!

I've dealt with Phanteeks, Fractal Design, Thermalright, Western Digital, Compaq and other and never had to pay anything out of pocket on RMA or warranty. Phanteks replaced my cooler with a smile, Fractal send HDD mounting screws I lost, Thermalright replace bad fan, WD sent me replacement HDDs with label for free post on my defective ones, Compac replaced 2 monitors the same way.

But I hear Corsair customers having to pay post, wait weeks for replacements, getting dead or defective replacement when they do finally get them, etc.

I have 2 Corsair TX v2 PSUs that are supposed to have "ultra quiet fan" and both can be heard from across the room. If I pay post to RMA them maybe after waiting weeks I'll get a quiet one. But what am I supposed to use in the meantime to power my computer?

Corsair banks on customers not wanting to pay for posting or having their computers out of use for weeks and therefore not bothering to deal with RMA and warranty. ;)

Phanteks have people watching forums to help with problems and offering to send bits customers need. I've never seen Corsair doing this.

I would but I didn't purchase them from you. :( Just wouldn't be right to expect you to deal with my problems.

They have their own forum anyone can use. Also they do cover postage. I have also seen that they offer advanced RMA where they send the new item before you send back the old one. I found this out from their forum.

Yeah, sometimes. The suppliers I mentioned give good customer service all the time. You don't have to do anything but let them know you have a problem and you get good service. It's offered up with a smile. Big difference.

I had 2 H100i's turn up today and both suffer from the low RPM fan rattle problem. This is once again very poor service from Corsair considering the issues with the original H100. They have said on there forums there will be a bios fix to the H100i and they have replicated the problem in the lab.

Shame they seemed to completely miss this in quality testing.

I got one today, not had time to try it.

It's worth plugging it in and running before fitting. The actual pump is silent the fans if connected to the H100i itself at low RPM make a horrid rattling sound.

The problem is apparently the H100i drives the fans using a PWM signal but the fans are voltage only so they buzz and vibrate.

If I plug the supplied fans directly into my mainboard they are fine and if I plug my 4 pin fans into the H100i they are fine.

Corsair have simply supplied incompatible fans with the H100i. How this was quality tested ?

I'm going to email corsair and ask for some replacement fans and see what they say as the pump itself is completely silent which is nice.
