New CPU Time

It won't have decent thermals, you can bet on that.
Well that could be the deciding factor then. Because I am not comfortable delidding a brand new CPU. I just don't have the cash to risk it. If I can get 5Ghz with an AIO @ <80 degrees. That will suffice.

With Intel's past few CPU releases I'd say that is very unlikely without a delid.

2133 vs 3200Mhz
132 FPS vs 149 FPS = 11%

11% is nothing, at that level with Ryzen its 40%

Yes, nonsense.

130 vs 185 = 41%

One cherry picked graph does not an argument make :p

Here is Witcher 3 with Ryzen, which appears to show a similar gain to Intel and Dg's picture/bench

To be frank, gaming wise, you're not going to see a massive difference going from a 2600k to Ryzen. I upgraded from 2600k @ 4.5. to RYZEN 1700 @ 3.9 and while there is improvement it's only a few FPS. The main improvement is the smoothness of gaming though, FPS doesn't account for it all.

So if you can then wait for something which maybe more of an improvement, unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket!

Wow I thought I would be getting like 25-30% increase not sure what to do now lol. Will see reviews on CL and decide then.

To be fair a 2600k @4.6 is still pretty high end in terms of performance, mainly due to intels stagnation of ipc improvements over the last few years.

what you will gain is better minimums which you will feel when playing as it will play a lot " smoother " . some games wont be a big difference some more modern games could be a nice big jump.depends which games.

DG's got 11% thats 17%.

Ryzen doesn't scale as well with Witcher 3 as the performance on Ryzen is already better than X99, despite this it still scales better than Intel.

Also keep in mind that in gaming X99 (6900K here) is faster than SkyLake-X (7900X)
The Ryzen 1700 is faster than all of them despite the 1700 also being the slowest of the Ryzen 7 chips.

haha :D you are funny. x99 beats ryzen in most games.in bf1 its the fastest cpu apart from obviously the new x299.the 7900 i9 absolutely crushes the ryzens.so i dont even know what you on about.

we get the amd cpus are great value gaming but please dont say they faster when they not.coffee lake soon aswell.hope you got them graphs ready.cause they will beat ryzen across the board aswell.i guess they will be slower aswell.lol.

Some more games where X99 doesn't "crush Ryzen"

what would be nice is forget other sites benchies. ocuk take top ten games " we " actually play that are popular and bench them.this works well for ocuk and for us as customers.then you can see what is what.

do stock and ocd max.

haha just use games we play.which show benefit of a good cpu.think about it its good for ocuk if 8pack did some benchies of all the new and great cpus in gaming.many sites are biased or getting back handers.we mainly all come here to buy gear.let them show the best cpus for gaming and whatever.

pubg
battlefield 1
witcher 3
wow

cinebench and the like are great but we just want to see what we actually use them for.
