New crysis screenshots.... WOW

Can we get some perspective please.

This is user generated content on what is probably still the best engine around today despite its age, Cryengine 2, used for the original and Warhead. Crytek have made some of the best engines on the planet.

Wow screens look nice.

That said, I really don't see the point in making a game that isn't going to run on current hardware. For god sake, make games that can be played well TODAY, without having to spend £3k on a machine.

But it can run on today's hardware, people just dont like the fact that they cant put all the settings to ultra high, even on low/medium its lightyears ahead of almost every other game. (Graphics wise)

People never think possibly they wanted to include higher settings by default?

Well its over 2 years later after the launch of the of the most hyped games of the last 5 years, id imagine its safe to say the vast majoity who had interest in it have already played it.

Methinks this man needs to get his sarcasm detector fixed :p :D

bugs = aliens ;)

The alien section in the mountain wasnt so bad, it was a change of pace/scenery, didnt last that long unless you were a nub and got lost, and looked awesome in places too. The aliens were certainly a step up from those wtf muppet critters in Far Cry.

Because that's what's going to make Crysis 2 crap... no wait if it's anything like the first it will be the gameplay.

I never mentioned the gameplay, i was talking about the gfx, maybe i should have said, its gona look crap instead of be :p

I thought Crysis was great till i did the Core level, but that ruined the game for me that one, so i never carried on, but up until then, was really good.

Well some of us have only just got it in the steam sale, it's on my play list right after i finish Team Fortress 2.

Some fantastic looking shots. Although some of the most impressive ones have been touched up in Photoshop (like the first one). This is pure screenshot art - dont expect this level of quality real-time at playable framerates any time soon.

I think it looks pretty decent on the consoles in those two videos. The performance is a bit choppy at times, but for a (what i can assume) pre-alpha version, it looks and performs pretty well.
