Right just fired this mod up after not playing ARMA3 for ages.

EXO server - landed, wandered around, found loads of guns/sights/ammo etc.

Can't carry much but what now. A bit confused about crafting building stuff etc - where do you build (anywhere?)

ourlot used to play with a spuddy on there namalsk servers when they were first starting out.had some epic battles.

wondered if you were that spuddy.

Head to a traders and sell things to up your funds, and then buy equipment that lets you carry more, and possibly a vehicle. Rinse and repeat until you have enough funds to purchase a territory, which is also done at a traders.

Or, head straight to one of the missions and try and get money that way. But good luck doing those solo, unless you do them when the server is very quiet and the mission is in a far flung corner of the map.

Problem with these games is servers can just vanish overnight on top of wipes.
Games like this need permanent servers or you're just wasting your time.

Happened to me i spent about 50 hours building up my lot then bang servers vanished.

Thanks - found a backpack - loaded up guns etc - went to trader post but then found I only had 10% left in my thirst so not looking good!

It's only a small trader post so no drinks! :eek:

You need to go to one of the safe zone ones - they have food and drink. Or scavange. Or make a bambi's day and take their drink

Tempted to give this another go as i was loving it when i last played it unitl the server i was on got wiped i just couldnt be bothered to start all over again.

Still don't really get on with this after a couple of hours this afternoon and another hour now.

Can't find any transport, so walking all the time to get anywhere.
Can't find any water/liquid/drinks so twice have died of thirst.

I'm not expecting a run and gun etc - but 3 hours, never saw a car/transport anywhere on the EXO server.

Found guns/kit/clothes/building stuff but have no idea what to do after that with no transport.

As I said before Booyaka, you need to buy transport (or spawn in your bike, which is provided the moment you spawn in as a newbie) and do to this you need to sell gear at traders.

Vehicles can be found, often damaged and locked. Repair them and break into them, steal them, and sell them or set a new lock code at the traders.

Are you sure you're on EXO? The Traders are very clearly marked on the maps.

Thanks - will give it a go again. I had a bike but then it disappeared which left me on foot.

Best place to spawn in to the game?

Depends where you want to go. Berezino is close to a couple of traders, but most spawn points are not that far from traders by bike.

The bike is a little glitchy (it can kill you if you flip it) but it's just a welcome change from the run sims that so many other similar servers turn into.

thanks - ran about for a while, found supplies - on the way to a trader, shot dead. :eek:

Don't think this is for me - 5 hours spent, nothing done, seen no one (didn't even see the guy who shot me) - start all over again

I really can't describe how different I've found it to you, but clearly, things just sometimes don't click.

totally understand - thanks for your help. Again. Follow your instructions - respawned, found stuff guns, kits, water, food, made it to the traders/safe zone. Purchased a territory (no idea where that is or anything - how do you know where to find it?) - got a quad bike finally - went off exploring, and shot dead whilst on quad bike.

Another hour gone

You need to find a place to place the territory - your choice where (though there are some rules about X distance from airfields etc.).

The being shot bit is kind of part of it! But I totally understand your frustration with it.

yeah - another good 3 hours yesterday - teamed up with 2 other guys on teamspeak. had some fun with it but always ended up getting killed without even seeing anyone shooting at me! one shot dead.

Bought a territory but somehow didn't get a "flag" for it? So lost 5k but don't seem to have a territory for it!

Did you goto the spot you want to build, open inventory and click place territory ?

Shout when you are on and I can get you another flag from my base as I have a couple in a safe.
