New Dell IPS S2721DGF 165hz gaming monitor

They sent me an open box with the seal broken.

I need to print a label, then take it to a parcel shop and wait 2 weeks for refund.

You need to wait 48 hours for the label to be sent!

WTF

Another company sent me an Odyssey G7 which had been resealed with Samsung branded sellotape. I have no idea if the company did this or Samsung. I emailed this company and have been waiting for a reply since last Thursday.

Another company did it with me last year. I won't name check. It had about 3 dead pixels in the corner which was within their tolerance and finger prints all over the screen, someone had checked it and returned under the DSR laws. I was naive and kept the panel not knowing about the DSR laws.

I never expected Dell to pull this trick, they never even tried to re-seal it, if they did I would have at least checked the panel and if I was happy, I would have kept it.

They must be getting returns for what ever reason and are sending them back out.

Its a joke, my trustpilot review went from one star, to five, now its back to one. Its not acceptable that after spending £550 on a monitor that should be A/B Graded is sold as new. The box was resealed, the items inside were resealed and finger marks over the front of the monitor. Ignoring my emails will just make me want to return it tbh

I'm very impressed with it so far, I wasn't sure how my PC would cope with it (spec in sig) but it's fine at 1440@144hz - whether that's freesync doing its thing or not, I dunno, but some games, i.e. console ports run fine at max or nearly max settings, and others I have to drop down to 'high' rather than 'ultra' graphics defaults, but that was the same case running 1080p resolution before anyway.

Some proper in depth reviews would be good to see though, there doesn't seem to be any.

The joystick OSD controller is a nice touch... OSD controls are typically a pain in the bum, and although it's something you only use very occasionally, it's a really nice touch.

Cheers, good to know about the controls as I have to change the source input quite regularly as I use my main PC desk and monitors to work from home with my work laptop and docking station. With CV19 I'm going to be working from home most of the time for the foreseeable future really - we're allowed back into the office a max of 2 days/week starting this week

I think I read that it will auto switch to whatever source is 'live' but if you have a couple of live sources it would be handy, apparently you can set up a couple of user profiles as well, so you could have one for work and one for gaming etc. Not a feature i've explored but might be handy.

Since the box is open, You could check if you like the monitor in general or if it was an accident, not a return, there might be nothing wrong with it?

The returns process with Dell isn’t too bad, the label came within 24 hours. Collecting until refund was about a week.

The tape is 3 inches wide and very thick. It can't be an accident. Someone has opened it. Given what happened before to me, I have to assume someone has inspected and rejected it. I'm not buying rejects.

Thanks for the conformation about the returns process. Dell use Indian call centers and they was very confusing.

My box had one strip of clear tape with some black dashes on it, same width as standard parcel tape but clear, covering the main opening flap on the box. no indications that any other tape had been removed.

Got it for £351 with a 10% code. All the student codes I had would not work. And then used topcashback to get 7% back taking it to £330 which is a £1 less than the deal posted in here. Might treat myself to a Fredo with the £1.:D

7% of £351 is £24.57. So it should be £326.43.

I just done it, but it hasn't tracked for me...yet.

Let me know if yours tracks. I don't know if I done right?

Mines going back as the IPS glow in the bottom right is too severe.

Weirdly Dell advised they'd send a refurb to replace my two week old unit.

I said no ta, I'll return it and re-order a new one...

Got mine today and got it all set up. It's extremely vibrant when compared to my S2719DGF. I haven't touched any settings, just left everything at stock (I'm going to wait for the Rtings review to go up to show what kind of settings they changed - but so far, it looks nice as it is out the box!)

I can't notice any kind of backlight bleed on my panel when it's in use (maybe ever so slight when the lights are off in the bottom corners, but it's not harsh at all) - so I'm pretty happy with my result in the panel lottery :D

Colours pop phenomenally on this thing, just can't believe I ended up getting it for only £22 more than what I paid for the S2719DGF...

Hopefully my replacement will match this as it's a fantastic monitor.
