New Duke Nukem Forever Footage Released

Am I the only person who never rated the DN games?

I expect iBot reckons it was carp aswell ;)

Pleased that there's finally an IG trailer.. it's a fairly good sign that it's actually going to be released within the next decade :)

I'm really hoping they go off the wall with this one... that shot of the guy getting blown away from behind the gate looked like what I was expecting! :D

Humour / Violence / Boobies are just the recipe for this games success!

Looks alright.

Source engine I assume?

Wiki says:

Broussard has stated several times that the only parts of the Unreal engine that are still part of their code base are UnrealScript, the networking code, and the UnrealEd. Everything else (except the current physics engine) has been written from scratch by 3D Realms. The principal technical reason given by Broussard for the extensive delays was the unstable tech base. Once it was stabilized, 3D Realms expanded their team considerably, from 22 to 31 members
On March 20, 2007, Scott Miller explained in an interview with YouGamers that they were still using the Unreal Engine, albeit a heavily modified version at this point

Also intriguing:
On September 14, 2004, 3D Realms announced that they had replaced the Karma physics engine with one designed by Meqon. Several sites have speculated that Forever will be using the latest generation of this technology, which was designed for next-gen consoles.

Biggest problem with these games is the nostaligia attached to their predecessors. No matter how hard the developers try, there will always be a bunch of backward twits who will look down on the games because of their quite, frankly laughable, rose-tinted glass views of the so called "classics".

Perhaps thats why they're taking so long. They're waiting until everyone who played the originals has died of old age! :p

PK!

Try hitting CTRL+F5 a few times, worked for me. Think it has trouble starting the player sometimes, well, in FireFox at least. The youtube video has been taken down :( Perhaps a new one will emerge soon.

And to all those who have supposedly lost faith and abandoned the game just because it's been in development so long.... oh please. It's a game FFS. If it turns out to be a great Duke game, then cool! I'll buy it and most likely enjoy it. If it sucks, then no biggy, plenty of other games to play.

I just don't understand the hate / bad attitude towards 3DRealms and DNF. Perhaps not so much here, but certainly on other forums, people are outraged that they have no DNF yet and claim to have lost interest, consider it vapour ware are absolutely insist that it will suck regardless of when it comes out.

It's a game. It can take until I'm 50 years old for all I care. Anyway, if Duke himself was to watch that video, I bet he'd say...

"Damn. I'm lookin good!" :D

Keep it up 3DRealms! Get it done!

The video looked good to me, as long as it's got the humour, the freeze gun and Dukes boot I'll be happy.

Oh, and scantily clad ladies!

This game must have had hundreds of man years of development time now. Who is paying for that and don't they want a return?

The project development accountants must chew gum and kick ass in meetings with their backers - and they're all out of gum!

Hmm, seems to me that there are only a few who are actually looking forward to this. Is it because 3DRealms 'owes' us one sequel to Duke3D? If so, how does a games company get into this debt?
