Hi,

Many of you will know that a big computer event is happening right now called Computex so over the next week lot's of new products and ideas will be going around the internet.

EK have decided that they have heard a lot of people having concerns over pricing when it comes to trying to water cool your system. They have now come up with a way to try and help you with that and keep performance at a high.

They have released 3 retail kits as shown below.

The components are made up of aluminium to keep them light weight and cost effective which is how they are able to offer the kits out at a lower price than the copper blocks and slightly higher than an AIO cooler.

The performance is only a couple of degrees lower than the copper setups from our testing and marketing testing meaning these kits are really good for the money.

The basic gaming kit is based around a 120 AIO cooler but as a full loop so you can have a nice looking setup for your build for around £140.

The overclocking & gaming kit is aimed at anyone who likes to overclock the CPU to get the extra bit of performance. Coming in at under £170 it is only slightly more expensive than the Kraken X52 & X62 coolers.

The high end gaming kit includes the normal 240 radiator kit but has the addition of a GPU block which is compatible with 1070, 1080, 1080 Ti and Titan X pascal.

A lot of testing and research has gone into these kits to ensure that they perform to the highest standard and hopefully allow anyone wanting to water cool to finally get involved.

All Kits included the following:
- Universal CPU water block: EK-Supremacy AX (incl. thermal material)
- Radiator: EK-AluStream SE 120 (Slim Single)
- Radiator fan: EK-Vardar F3-120 (1850rpm) (either 1 or 2)
- Water pump-reservoir combo: EK-ACR SPC-60 PWM (incl. pump)
- Tubing: EK-DuraClear 9,5/12,7mm (3/8" - 1/2") (2 meters)
- Compression fittings: EK-ACF ALU Fitting 10/13mm (3/8" - 1/2") - G1/4" Black (6 pcs) (8 Pcs with GPU)
- Coolant: EK-CryoFule Clear Concentrate (100mL)
- Pump mounting for 120mm fan pattern
- EK-Cable Y-Splitter 3-Fan PWM (10cm)
- EK- Cable Pump testing adapter
- Pump extension cable (50cm)
- ATX bridging plug
- Allen key 8mm
- Installation manual
- Intel Mounting Kit
- AM4 Mounting Kit

Now in Stock

Important: Please do not mix these components with copper water cooling products

Errr, what?? A CPU and GPU on a single 240 rad?? EK are actively encouraging people do this?

We had the same concern so we tested it ourselves using a Titan X CPU and an I7-7700k in a phanteks elite case and it ran without issues. I'm not sure if the CPU was overclocked now as it was in December we tested it.

I don't doubt it would run, the system is hardly going to explode or anything, but temps surely won't be anything special, and when you factor in the cost of doing this, I can't imagine it's a very cost effective cooling solution, nor that quiet with both fans going like the clappers. Not that proper WC'ing could ever be accused of being cost effective under any circumstances, but surely the point of going this route is to achieve the lowest temps and near silence (and you'd also all but certainly want the option to overclock both components).

Should you not mention that upgrading any parts of this kit ( as it is modular ) would have to be specifically Aluminium and nothing else.

Can see people whacking their own 360 copper radiator on this and wondering why it is gunked and dissolving in 6 months !

Not everyone knows about Galvanic corrosion

Done.

Looks like a winner. Nice stepping stone for people who want to get into custom loops but might not be sure what they need and how much it would cost. This gives them an indicative price and can get them cooling their CPU or GFX card before they move on to full custom loops.

Nice call by the way on the galvanic corrosion Brizzles...

This is pretty much exactly what I'm after right now. Shame they don't do one for none founders editions version as I have a Zotac amp.

An aluminum version of their Thermosphere universal GPU block might make sense here. The copper version sold poorly since people bought full cover blocks a lot more, but in this price range that may work out. Maybe Robbie can put in a word with EK? I will too.

I am happy to put your feedback to them for sure. No harm in asking :)

It would be a good thing to add for sure. I have seen alphacool do a thing for aftermarket cards to watercool in a AIO format.

I'd love to chill my GPU but cba to jump into a full water loop at this stage.

I tried the 240 rad Cpu loop on 7700K, 6950x and 1700 all overclocked and Temps where closer to custom loop than AIO. At AIO kinda price level..win win in my book.

I will make a video in around 8-10 days installing this kit and show some performance figures.

Will that 'universal' CPU block fit threadripper when it's released? I'm planning to build a watercooled setup as soon as x399 is widely available but I might need to wait if there are no CPU blocks that are large enough.
