New essential Android apps thread

Installed! Awesomeness, the UI is so fluid :)

Also indeed the vertical video animation is amusing and useful at the same time!

I'm new to android - I've just tried installing the Google Camera on my Note II and the Play Store states that my device is not compatible. Why is that?

Google Camera force closes when I switch to the front camera. I'm not that ugly :(

There's a reason why we're not allowed custom avatars ;)...

Really was not expecting Google to release a standalone camera app. Having a play with it so far and it's UI is much better then the original stock camera. They seemed to have removed the advanced options however, but hopefully Google will add those back in.

installed the camera app!

only had a brief play but makes the seem better compared to standard Sense camera app so I'm happy with that!

but that chrome remote desktop is mind blowing! just had a quick play and its so awesome!

Now need to find a way to turn computer on remotely from the phone and then I can connect to it and pull files off when im at work.

Ah cheers dude! I'll get reading on the whole sideloading lark tomorrow :) Anything is better than the AOSP camera app.

It really is this simple.

Copy apk to phone/download apk on phone > navigate to said file > tap said file > if its the first time you've done it, it'll take you to the security page where "unknown sources" will be unticked > tick that > install > done.

Camera app is pretty smart much nicer than the AOSP one but not as good as HTC's or Samsungs.

Dude, much appreciated! I had no idea it was that easy but it worked a treat :)
