New essential Android apps thread

List time :D apps I find myself using regular with my Note 10.1 2014 at the moment...

UC Browser Hd: Looks good, quick and useful gestures. Could do with better scrapbook support and multi window support, but good for just casual browsing.

Mystylus Beta: Handwriting app I use with the S Pen. Very good recognition and better than the stock keyboard handwriting option imo.

Lecture Notes: Very good for handwritten notes.

EZ PDF Reader: Good for reading and annotating PDF files.

Office suite: Probably my favourite Office application

Snapseed: Picture editing app with a lot of features to make them look nicer

Some general apps...

Tapatalk: For most of my forum browsing needs. Most people know what this is by now I'm guessing.

Spotify: For my music listening needs

Appsales: Shows play store apps that are currently on sale

Dummy Defense: loads of games available, but one I'm playing at he moment. Build structures to protect your dummy from hazards :D

I've now switched to KK Launcher as my default home launcher. It's really very good. I'll probably stick with it unless we ever get an update to Nova Launcher(I have read the development has stopped for it. I hope that's not that case).

I've got Nova (paid) and I like it but I'm always willing to try something else! I've installed KK and now I get asked which launcher I want, if I use KK 'just once' will all my Nova settings and layout still be there if I go back to them?

Yes they will. And if you want to can go into the Nova options and backup your settings and desktop, which you can restore later if anything does happen. But youll be able to switch between them without it forgetting its settings.

Just checked the G+ community for Nova, big shame that there won't be any more updates for a long time.

KK Launcher is pretty nice, but on my HTC One when scrolling between screens it doesn't seem to feel as smooth as Nova.

What happened to Nova? Why have they stopped?

Just tried KK launcher, its not bad, but doesn't feel as smooth as nova on my S4...

The main developer just started a family so he won't have much time to develop Nova further. Perhaps when he has more time in the future.

I suppose if Nova starts feeling dated, I'll move to another launcher, but Nova does everything I need. Apex looks like it's still being developed.

One thing that I have liked with Nova is its simplicity of being able to drop an icon into a folder and then sort that folder by name. I have not been able to do the same with Apex.
I wondered why there had not been an update for a while with Nova, it will be a shame if it starts to become dated or bugged with newer Android releases. But it is fine for now and well worth the money.
