New essential Android apps thread

Trying Kitkat launcher again, and solo launcher, both quite similar, but slightly different in a few ways.

Not a big fan of the options when you hit the menu button with KKL but solo is a pop up menu like Nova.

I tried Solo and thought it was alright but I don't like the way you can't expand widgets to fit the entire screen. There's only a small area that they can fit in. And I know what you mean about KK Launcher options. It'd be good if you could change system settings by hitting the menu key.

Nice big update to Google Maps and Navigation to version 8 today. Now you get lame guidance, better trip info and you get live reroute info and n the map, simply click a tab and it instantly reroutes that way instead. The tab shows you the time difference by going that way too.

You also get quick access to alternative routes via the bottom right button now and more offline map storage control.

I've also noticed now if you zoom out during navigation the map still follows your path so you don't lose sight of the triangle marker to denote your position.

Progressively Maps is turning a full page into a fully featured thing.

That maps update has raped my battery. Had to uninstall it :(

Might even be Google Play Services. Anyone else having battery drain?
