New essential Android apps thread

I'm not sure if you're aware but if you download the rainforest app you can download their free camera apps, you get 100 coins for each, there's 9 in total, so you can get about £9 worth of credit to use in the future.

If you do it via the amazon website, then use the coins to buy:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Grand-Theft-Auto-San-Andreas/dp/B00HCU7OCI/ref=zg_bs_1710360031_1

and get 2000 coins for free. You don't need a kindle, although it obviously wont work on a non-kindle device. YOu can still purchase it if you go via the website.

How does everyone copy/manage their music on Android? I used a wifi copy app but it seems to have dumped it all in one folder and power amp thinks its all the same album once scanned

Is it best to place in separate folders

I keep them in /music/artist/album - generally on the sd care but since the update to kitkat I also have a music folder on the home drive. Player pro never seemed to have an issue with the odd random folder without structure, and actually Google play seems to handle organisation by meta tags...

After saying that I really like KK launcher the past 2 updates have broken it. Constantly keeps crashing on me and the parallax wallpaper option they have(which I quite like) is now a separate app and it's rubbish as well. I've had to go back to v3.8.

The old way I just dumped all my music files into one folder, and as long as the "Album" tag on the music files was properly sorted, Poweramp easily sorted them to their respective albums. I use Mp3tag to tidy all my music files however.

Of course dumping it all into one folder got very messy, so I eventually sorted it out to music/artist/album, made it much easier for me to see what I have on my phone when it's connected to the PC...

Guys I have an app request

I want to backup all the information on my old s3 so I can send it to my insurance as it's got a few issues going on

I also have a samsung galaxy s5 that I bought a couple of weeks ago and have been using since.

I want to merge the contacts and texts on my old s3 onto my s5

What is the best way to do this as there seems to be a bewildering array of apps for this purpose

That's exactly what I did this morning, deleted everything and put all albums in separate, named folders

Google to sync your contacts & https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zegoggles.smssync for sms always worked fine for me :)

Use Google Contacts to keep all your contacts backed up and in sync: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?tab=Cm#contacts

Try this for transferring texts: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore

Got this survey earlier today:

Not a clue what it meant, my only conclusion was that the wrong answers were linked to the question.

Still, got 12 for it. Yay I guess.
