New essential Android apps thread

A friend with a N5 has just got Nova launcher - does anyone know how to change the icon for the app drawer? When she tries to do it through edit and select something it won't do anything. Does she need an icon pack installed to allow her to select something?

Long press then select edit. When the box pops up on the left next to the name is the current icon, press that and it should bring up the icon selection bit.
 
They started the rollout two weeks ago i think. It does look great. Annoying how they've moved the what's new section to the bottom of the app page though. when you click on an app the preview of what's new is the first text you see, but when you expand it it's at the bottom and have have to scroll down past the app description to see the rest of the what's new section. grr i just want to know whats changed, i dont need see the description for apps i already have installed :p
 
I'm I the only one that has problems with the Playstore on Firefox? It seems to cause the browser to constantly Not Respond... :(
 
I'm looking for a calendar widget for my S5. I had one on my S3 that allowed me to look at all events for the next 5 days but can't remember what it was called.
I've found things that are similar, but they don't have the same feel as the one on the S3.

Any suggestions?
 
Business Calendar? I use the agenda widget that comes with it.

Does anyone have / use a conference call dialer app they can recommend. I seem to spend half my life sitting on conf calls and dialing into them is a huge pain :(

This is a good comment. However, do you get decent speeds using Hola? What about using, say, the Astrill VPN app on Android? It's a shame that Overplay VPN and UnoTelly VPN don't have apps available as currently you have to manually enter the addresses.
 
Does anyone have a decent Gallery app which shows all your sync'd accounts (fb, dropbox etc?).

The S3 default one used to be really good and sync everything then show the folders for FB, the S5 one just gives you a facebook folder which jumbles them all up :(
