New essential Android apps thread

Hmm. IFTTT does look like it can read emails, but I don't think there is a way to stack multiple IF conditions together for a single action, like location and time, or battery level and devices around and day of the week and time.

Tasker will do some of that, but not read emails (I don't think).

You can get it to scan bluetooth devices in range, but it will suck battery doing that - so I'd either have it scan bluetooth devices at a specific time (or hourly). Or you could just get it to give a reminder every 10% increment below 50%

Think Waze is a better all round package for camera detection due to it being real time and social network powered. A fixed database is only as good as its last update, Waze is constantly updated by those around you.

I don't really like Waze as a navigation app though, I find it a bit cluttered and laggy, but my phone is from 2012 and has a 4" screen, so that might be the issue! :p

Last time I tried Tasker it felt like I needed to go on a week long training course to learn how to use it, and it drained my battery like nobody's business. This was a few years back mind.

Has WhatsApp been changed recently?

Not a biggie but when you go to send an attachment now, the top left icon is doc's. Always used to be Gallery, didn't it?

I got the release candidate email the other day and downloaded it. Join the Waze beta page and you will get the link.

I like Android but boy there are some things that just annoy me lol.

I am having issues with Picktures (brilliant gallery app) and SD card access. In the past when notified it (or other apps) needs SD card access, it will take me to that browser looking thing where you select the root of the SD card and give it access. However (the timing suggests it's something to do with my new ROM) when I do this, I can't see the internal storage or SD card. I have altered between "show SD" and "hide SD" to no avail. I get why Google limited access but it's frustrating having to do this for every app and now not even working, just so I can move some pictures and delete.

You can't really blame Android if you're using a custom rom and are having issues like that though.
