New essential Android apps thread

PhotoScan looks great. Funnily enough it tells me it's not compatible with my Pixel XL so I had to use APK Mirror to install it!

Tested it on a low quality Magazine cover and it seemed really good, although the overall quality of the picture might not be as good as you hope. Just tested it on a photo I have, under a strong lamp -

It does a great job of removing the reflection, but the colours are a little dulled and it's almost like it's only 256 colours or something and the resolution is turned right down.

FOTO Gallery is nice, but one issue is that I can't find a way to change it from a grid based album display to a list based one like I did have on Quickpic?

I don't get what you're driving at? No way to change your camera? Well, no. No way to focus it after? Well, no. Just take the picture again?

As I said, it's not an issue with the app.

Sorry for the late reply. Yeah I tried to do the same when I first read your comment, had no luck sadly. I've always used grid preview on my albums so never really had a specific need for alternative views.

Is anybody using Solid Explorer and a 128GB microSDXC card? The card works fine and is browsable and Gonemad has no issues using it as my music library. But I've just noticed that I can't delete files or copy files to it with Solid Explorer. A popup comes up saying I must "grant" access but the presumably stock Android file picker doesn't see the SD card at all??

However, my 64GB works perfectly - I can copy files to it and delete no problems at all. I'm guessing it's old android 5.1 that has the issue with bigger cards? Has anyone else seen similar? :)

You've already granted permission to the 64GB before that's why.

When the popup appears, go to the root of the 128GB card then click the select button at the bottom so Android pairs that permission to SoliD Explorer.

But I can't browse to it.. :p

I presumed this bit is built in to android?? BTW, it's not hidden via the top right 3 dot menu option.

Since I paid my 149 pence for this, I guess I should try their support. :)

That's Android's dialogue not Solid, but yes it should be listed there if the card is completely recognised and formatted correctly. I take it it's not been encrypted or something?

Nope, it's definitely not encrypted. I just checked with my card reader in the PC and it's formatted as exFAT whereas the 64GB card is formatted as FAT32. Just formatted it as FAT32 and bingo...

As I use it mostly for music, I won't have any issues with the lack of large file support.

Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 running android 5.1. It even formats as exFAT if you use the "erase" option in the storage settings but for some reason, that particular dialog doesn't like it.
