Just upgraded my panel filter in my Mondeo ST TDCi. What can I say. Its great. Theres no more stutter under harsh accelleration, no more jerkyness and when I double-de-clutch the engine is far freeer reving.

I thought that to start with it was perhaps a phycological thing, but then I really did compare it to the original, thinking about how it was before and it most definatly wasn't like it before.

Two thumbs up for K&N Panel filters! :)

When you want to look hardcore on the internet.

Don't start

After the hundreds of discussions on this, let this not start again and keep it on topic!

Only when driving something without synchromeshes, or very weak/broken ones.

Wrong, but as I said, we won't do down this road

Perhaps if you could just explain why you double de clutch in a diesel mondeo, then it will solve all this?

I for one also cant see the point.

Regardless of the rolleyes, double declutching a diesel Mondeo is daft.

I drive how I like, its how I've been taught. I double de clutch to make smooth gear changes, not because I HAVE to becasue of the car. I don't see the problem with this. I didn't put it in to 'act hard' because to be quite frank, why do I need to act hard on a bloody Internet forum? I don't see why some people have to behave in such a childish manner?!

Just because YOU say that its daft, doesn't mean its the be all and end all. There are OTHER drivers out there who find it easier to use other methods and as I've said, I drive how I've been taught. I like a smooth ride, not a jerky bumpy one. Its all down to personal preference so don't bad mouth me because of my preferences.

Some of you wonder why people avoid the Motors forum.

Seen as no one can be bothered to keep it on topic you can close this thread.

Not the response I was after!

Ok, how does double de clutching make gear changes smother?

The only problem with the motors forum, is if you brag about something daft, you may get caught out. :p
