New five pound note

Hate carrying cash, very rare I carry it anyway but I'm looking forward to getting rid of the paper notes. The £5 ones are always falling apart.

Now when are they going to do away with 1p's and 2p's? I don't even keep them anymore! Smallest currency should be 5p :P

Would love to see the 1p and 2p scrapped myself, even if they rounded everything up.

Will they start putting them in cashmachines now?

Just for those times when you need cash but only a couple of quid

I never carry cash. Card all the way

Finally we join the plastic revolution are there any see through parts on this i like that feature in the Australian money I've handled.

Yes, it shows it on the page in the OP.

The Canadian notes are clever, if you shine a laser pointer through the transparent section towards a wall it projects the denomination.

Good, they all should be plastic.

Norn Iron had them years ago (curiously just fivers as well) and I believe it's fairly common in the antipodean areas?

Hookers and dealers don't generally take plastic. Nor does my local pub or station coffee kiosk... The last two being the reason I keep cash about of course :p

There are a lot of places that charge you a fee or just won't accept card at all for small purchases so carrying some cash around is still very handy.

Don't shop at these places then?

I very rarely carry cash of any kind, don't seem to have a problem.
