Nothing is being deleted but it probably won't be possible to move all footy posts as there's a hell of a lot of them.

Personally I'm up for deleting them, but it may not go down well :D

I've been toying with the idea of having a thread for Rangers v Celtic matches and another for the other SPL games, I know for a fact that some won't post in the current SPL thread due to the atmosphere in there sometimes.

I think it might be a bit quiet as although the numbers of non Old Firm fans probably totals about the same as the numbers that support the Glasgow clubs on here most of us don't seem to be quite so voluable. It might be a worthwhile idea anyway, at least that way you've got most of the people who can't manage to be civil to each other in one place, it's really a shame for the Celtic and Rangers fans who don't sling insults though.

I didn't think about the Old Firm fans who just enjoy the football and banter getting stuck without a thread to post in, scrap that idea, time for bed :)
 
Good stuff. Was never a big fan of the big catch-all threads when we tried that a while back, so a separate forum makes good sense, considering the volume of football posts. I'm tempted to say we should knock the big transfer window threads on the head now too, but those aren't actually too bad.

I don't think it'll be that bad. There are some posters whose only interest is football, and sure, they'll skip straight to the new forum, but even someone with only a passing interest in various other sports, like myself, will check the main forum occasionally.
 
True, my worry was that with no football I wouldn't check it that much, but I suppose with football removed from the mix threads won't drop down the pages so quickly anyway.
