Hi,

The new forum works really well on my mobile, so very happy about that.

I have a suggestion to improve the view of forum topics - a simple bit of shading, i.e. making the original poster's username a dark grey colour, will improve the list:

I assume this will looks heaps better in a completely different colour scheme?
Is it just the blue on blue on blue with white what is making it unreadable?
Even the long lists of threads are now very hard to discern.

The new interface is driving me mad to the point I can't actually be bothered reading the forum right now.

I'm 49. I've been on the Internet since the beginning and have used all manner of forums. I fully appreciate that things change and all forums are changed or upgraded but this is the single worst 'upgrade' I've ever seen. Everything is worse, nothing worthwhile has been added and there was nothing wrong with the old one.

While to some point I agree, especially about the current layout issues, the upgrade was, IMO, much needed.

VB is ancent and it shows, badly.

The situation is akin to Sky TV. People who have never used Sky say they don't need it and don't see the point. Then on the off chance they get Sky, suddenly they could never be without it.

The old forum did it's job. However once the new one is setup and working well it will be fine.

This is how the new layout should be - far far too much wasted space currently - admittedly this was done at 110% in my browser, but the layout is more compact. The Space between posts in now much reduced as the Post number Time and date are contained within the post.

that looks a lot better, get rid of the avator shadow and just make it a box that joins the text box.

Also, when not logged in - the lack of avatars / user name area looks naff.

Sorry, I only have a little experience in producing accessible websites and that is now a little dated, can you explain what you mean by this?

Obviously in the previous forum the layout wasn't as capable at responding to varying resolutions, so layout often forced either shrinking the whole site to fit the width of the device, or scrolling left to right. Additionally the posting section is the highest contrast possible, to my eyes the readability of the text on mobile is a substantial improvement.

I think it's the colour scheme that's the main issue really hard to read on my s7 edge and iphone??

When I click "Home" from the "Home > Forums > Life etc. tool bar, I get logged out and the login fails when I try to log back in again.

In the above the bottom of the p's and y are missing. Should the "Log in or Sign up" be over hanging the graphic in the way it currently does?

Also, the text on all the grey buttons looks pants...



Some of the letter are barely visible on some.

On login the "remember me" is really close to the other elements.

When a post has no signature but is long, the Report buttons can be very close to the text as there is no line divide as you get with signature posts.

It's going to take some getting use to, but overall I actually quite like the updates.

Just give it time, the backend changes are huge, the front end tweaks will happen so the majority of the forum are happy

Click in the "Search..." in the top right hand corner and the following options drop down: -



There's the option "Search this thread only"

Worst part is the quick reply box at the bottom of the page, looks a complete dogs dinner so far. Also I'm finding that when clicking the thread title it takes me to the last read post, not the 1st.

It fits a lot nicer on my Nexus 5 if nothing else but I think the new look on the whole will take a bit of getting used to.
