I don't think so. [hopefully!] The fractal fans are very low noise even at 100%, the case comes with a fan controller for 3 of them in any case. The Akasa Apaches will take care of themselves, and I've got a Vapor-X 5870 on the way which shouldn't be too loud. I wear headphones when gaming anyway, so even when the system is under stress it should be OK.
The two fans at the top are setup to exhaust the hot air buildup.
Don't think about the P183, it just looks wrong compared with the R2
The Apaches are Silent but needs to be set around 950ish RPM this can be done with software via PWM. With all the fans running at low RPM you wont even hear it.

did anyones temps go up when they used this case at all over there other case ?

not for me personally and i get similar temps to people i know who are using toher cases like thermaltake lement s lancool k62 and antec 900's if that makes any sense

myne with a non modular psu, all the wires are hidden
got 2 x GTX 260s in there now which have replaced my 2 x 8800 Ultras

i left mine in there so i didnt loose them like said above but i have had them out and never seen any difference in cooling

There are gaps between the white trays, but the areas of the sides that would be exposed with the bays removed are solid, anyway. I don't think there's any benefit to removing the unused bays.
