New Gmail??!?!?!?!?!

I thought it was great, love it.

I thought so too, it seems to have instantly sorted all my email into correct areas, when i have gone through it it all seems to be correct, not missing anything important in the "primary" tab, all other nonsense/spam is in the "promotions" tab, leaving all YouTube/Google+ stuff in the "social" tab, excellent :)

actually it is BRILLIANT

sorts out the rubbish from the important emails

Agree. I love it. It really got on my nerves when I have new email notification only to find that it's just a promo from Amazon for items that I already own lol. That kind of email is called "bacn" - see here, the letter o is deliberately missed out of bacn for some reason like it's trendy to say Flickr etc.

Disabled immediately. I use the multi-inbox lab option which allows me to do a similar sort of thing (although I can separate things using custom search rules with it) and have them all on the same screen instead of on different tabs.

Just had a quick look at it and I find myself agreeing with the learned gentleman above, in that web mail is pants and this offering particularly so.

How is webmail annoying?

Gmail is probably the best web client there is out of them all, even MS's Outlook.com doesn't compete (yet). Unless you're on some really ancient connection then speed is little to no different to a local client either.

I recommend you guys spend a bit more time learning it :p

Was offered this tonight at the same time as Kristina from Latvia was trying to chat me up. It would suit Google better to fix their spam filter than trying to fix what isn't broken. Unless she really does fancy me?? Hmmm.

It's sorting your emails into categories, quite useful really.

No it isn't. It's my job to sort my e-mails, not Google's. That's because I know what I'm doing, and Google does not. Not to mention the fact that I want my e-mails sorted AFTER I've looked at them, and not before. There are few things more annoying that software companies guessing what you want to do - because they get it wrong so often.

Yes, essentially you end up with 4 or more inboxes when it's sorted before you read them. I only want to deal with one inbox thank you.

I already have all my email filtered into appropriate folders and I could instantly see which ones needed checking, now I can't. How do I turn it off?
