NEW i7 930 (BLOOMFIELD) OVERCLOCKED BUNDLES NOW AVAILABLE

I've bought my componets for my new build and been rather unlucky. My RMA'ed bundle below is being collected on Monday and is heading back to OCUK, along with the Obsidian case. Possibly faulty Samsung F3 HD too in the future (we'll see about that!).

*OVERCLOCKED* Intel Core i7 930 2.80GHz @ 4.00GHz / Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Motherboard / Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel DDR3 Bundle
Corsair H50-1 High-Performance CPU Watercooler

When youy test these bundles, I'm guessing you don't use the actual cooler you despatch right? Mine was brand new boxed.

Anyway, after a lot of flaffing about temps were still too high (H50 cooler is suspected as being faulty).

Assuming it's the H50, would I be able to exchange it to the Megahalem with 2 x 120mm Sharkoon 1000 fans?

I cant beleive megahalens gets better temps than a corsair H50. however reviews of the new coolit water cooler setup gets lower temps than the h50.

Hi Sinclair

You would need to raise the question in the customer service forum as im unsure if that's possible off the top of my head sorry.

Phil
Thanks Phil, I've done so. It would be nice if my request could be accommodated.

BTW - Would you need to purchase some additional clips or screws for the Megahalem/Sharkoon combination? If so, could you link to those please?

As Phil says it comes with them and they are very easy to fit.
I can't believe the temps & almost silent system I now have.

Also with the mega-shrooms combo (as I now declare they are called in push/pull) it means you are future proof for Gulftown in the future for cooling an overclock on one.

That is why I didn't buy the Corsair H50-1.

Also the Fractile Design case is great if you don't mind not having a window.

My only 2 very minor gripes are very heavy side panels (due to sound proofing) are very hard to take off and put back on.

Also the paint job is rather thin and so easy to scratch. Which combined with the above issue can make it easy to scratch.

But it kills the sound, although TBH there is very little sound to kill
