Gsync
Youll be just fine, the higher you go in resolution the more GPU bound games become, of course, there are exceptions. There are games like AC that love cores as well. My advice get your monitor you'll find the most enjoyment from that, then in the meantime save towards something like a 3600x if you're on a budget. I find 27 inch to be the perfect size for peripheral vision, I didn't like 32" and I found 24" too small, for me 27" is perfect. Don't forget you can enable freesync on this.I have;
i7 2600k (4.3ghz)
Vega 56 (950/1k)
16gb ddr3 ram
Currently game at 1080p on 22”
Would my system be good enough to step up to this monitor and resolution?
Or would I be better to upgrade to Ryzen 3?
I’m hoping that the Vega 56 is good enough to run at 1440p as have only owned this a few months.
Just need to work out where to put the money as I’m told 1440p is a nice upgrade from 1080p. Or would the fact jumping from 22 to 27 negate the effect?
I sit at my PC desk in my chair so around 2 foot away.
Thanks in advance
How's the backlight bleed on that in reality?
it isn't the same thing as being gsync tho. they want you to think it is, but it isn't.There g sync compatible
tyGuess I won the lottery. as it's pretty much perfectly even. Only slightly more in the corner. So im more then happy!

Struggling to see what the PG279Q offers that the 27gl850 doesn't offer for £200 less...
I do wonder how many people could tell the difference in a blind test between the module and no module in a typical game. Its not like there is much difference in the variable refresh rate.Eveer heard of g-sync mate. In the PG there is a thing called: G-sync module, and as we know the GL doesent have it. Thats why it's cheap = inferior product

except you can overclock the gsycn panels higher, remember the lg850 that's on preorder here was originally 160hz until it dropped the gsync module. There isn't any, had the Acer XB271HK then switched to the LG Freesync UW and couldn't tell a thing.

I'm coming from the land of 60hz... I'm sure 144hz will do me just fine. I don't need 160hz...
What is OV shorthand for?I dont care about 165hz myself. Allways use my PG at 144hz, and of course cap it at 141hz. But I do care about VRR + OV together. You only get that from g-sync matey
