As others have said. £18 for Minecraft is a steal. I paid around £10 for it in alpha and have definitely played over a thousand hours so far. Still playing it nearly 6 years later too.

Yup. I've no plans to get a new dedi at the moment (I simply don't use it enough) and unfortunately (and understandably) nobody else fancied footing the bill 
It's a totally sandbox game, although there are elements of things to do to 'beat' the game, such as defeat the Ender Dragon and kill a few Withers!
I used to only play single player, but that soon got boring and old, so I joined the Linktart server and had a great time. Unfortunately that server is no more, but the one I listed in the op is very much up and running.
Some players like building nice houses/structures, some players like collecting resources and selling them to other players, another option is redstone stuff to automate getting stuff.
To get an idea of things that can be done, have a look on the Hermitcraft website http://hermitcraft.com/ - there's loads of videos from players there that might give you an idea of what can be built.
Feel free to hop on the server I listed if you fancy multiplayer.

I might also look into this- I haven't played Minecraft in an age and never played Multiplayer Minecraft. I think I tried once but it was not simple to join a server!

Is it the headbobbing? I think it can be turned off in the settings?
I've always turned everything like that off and even narrowed the field of view. After using it enough I used to build up a tolerance, but I felt really **** when I last tried.
I always use a high FOV with having a 21:9 monitor in other games and find only MC affects me. No idea how.

Been playing MC pretty much since 2011 but then moved to FTB Minecraft (Modded) and it is pretty hard to switch back to vanilla. That said, I've restarted so many FTB worlds now that I'd like to see what vanilla is like again!

Nothing compares to the Linktart server that was the best.
When it shut down, I went on about 5 other servers and none were so well run, and so honestly run. No one cares if anyone griefs you or steals your stuff elsewhere. Good old Linktart server *sniff sniff*

Why did he shut it in the end? That was probably the only decent Minecraft server I played. Loved the little village that we made where everyone had their own little plot

Mmm real shame. If I'd known it was going to close due to a lack of donations, I'd certainly have coughed up again. I was off the server for a while, though, and missed it.
I can say the staff on this server are quite simply awesome and we have no thefts or griefing, plus there's a few coop builds already been completed with more to come.
The feel of the server is similar to Linktart (which was fantastic, and I had some great times on there, but was just too expensive for the few of us who were happy to donate). This is probably due in parts to the way the server is run, and we already have several ex Linktart players playing here.

Right, i've been thinking of getting minecraft. I played it on PS4 but that is all, how much different is it on PC?
Do i need anything other than the base game to join this server?
