New NFL Season 2011

Andrew Luck looks a beast! Having second thoughts on RG3 now.

After seeing Luck's pro day, kinda hoping the rumors of Colts might take RG3 comes true.

I'd be happy with either as both give us a great chance to win games. Still a month to till the draft, bah!

I think they'll both be good but really can't see us taking anyone but Luck. Just got a job in Indiana so gonna try and go to at least 3 home games next season.

Although RG3 looks great, Redskins have paid way over the odds for a relatively unproven QB from the draft. I was almost cheering on the Eagles getting up the 2nd pick for him, but when I found out the buying price for that draft spot, wow, I'm glad they didn't.

There was too much interest from other teams to jump up to 2nd pick, Browns being the other "Most Interested" team, If there wasn't as much interest we might have landed him for a lot cheaper.

Besides NY Giants traded (two first-round picks, a third-round pick and a fifth-round pick) with Saints to land Eli Manning.

Think Falcons paid (One first-round pick, one second-round pick, one third-round pick and a player) to move up to land Vick around 10 years ago.

Not saying RG3 or Luck will be as good or even have as much success at QB as Eli but just goes to show that deals similar to this have been made in the past.

It is nice however to see that the Skins are starting to be mentioned again on certain American Football forums, over last 4 years we've been a the laughing stock of the NFC East.
We're getting better but no where near as good as the Giants, Eagles and Cowboys.. YET! ;)

Wouldn't understand why the Eagles would want to move up to 2nd overall to land either QB, think they pretty much QB set with Vick and Young? Surely their picks better spent elsewhere.

I like the Lucas Oil Stadium, very tidy ground. Take some pics and post them here or something when you go? would be sweet :)

Whether or not we overpaid for RG3 (or Luck) can only really be decided in a minimum of 3 years. As has been pointed out, if you get 'that guy' for a couple of 1st rounders, it becomes a steal.

Young is gone, he's no longer an Eagle. So let's get him out the conversation already, and good riddance to him aswell!

Vick is getting on a bit, this season is make or break and if Reid doesn't get a QB in the first or second round in the 2012 draft, I'll be surprised. Vick heir apparent will have to be groomed soon. On top of the long term factor, our short term (I.E. next season is make or break for current front office and coaching staff), Vick either needs to start every game and not get injured - which of course holds like a 20% chance because of his scrambling style - or have a backup ready to step up to the plate and get the job done. Eagles thought Young was this guy last season, how wrong they were proved to be. I've never liked the guy.

Kafka isn't ready to step up yet, he showed that late last season. I love our current QBs - Vick and Kafka that is, not that Buffalo no body who probably won't even make the team.

The Eagles will win the NFC East this year, and they will be Superbowl contenders. I would put money on it with any Giants fan, and I've already got money on it with Ladbrokes and William Hill. ;) A long off season is going to gel our monsterours players together, which we missed last off season and that cost us dearly.

Yeah forgot Young is a free agent, they could always sign McNabb back as his media career is mediocre lol

Didn't Andy Reid mention recently, he nearly walked out on the franchise? That can't be good.

You didn't put too much money on it, did you? :p

Yep agreed! RG3 just needs to learn our system and he'll do fine, the offense he played at Baylor is similar to the west coast offense.

If he does fail then we can say we overpaid for him but if it works out then it's a great deal.

No, Andy Reid said nothing of the sort. This came from an 'anonymous source' and was very promptly denied by all of the Eagles front office and by Reid. He's had total control over personnel for years now, it's not hard to see that.

Interesting draft. As a Rams fan, shame we didn't get any of the big names but hopefully all the risks pay off...and Redskins do bad over the next few seasons as we have their first round picks!
Looking forward to watching them smash the Patriots at Wembley!

Throughout the Draft and free-agency...we patched a lot of holes, which is why we traded down quite a few times to get a lot of picks. The draft itself was quite balanced between offensive and defensive picks, getting a few CB's, WR's and RB's and our big pick on a DT.
Will be interesting to see 2 drafted CB's + Finnegan from the Titans, stack up to stop Megatron on Week 1...we hope. :)

All your high round picks were D. I think the O picks were 5-7. I didn't follow the NFL last year for this first time in ages so not sure if your squad really needed that though I do remember you being a little light defensively.

First round pick we got a D but I think we got 2 offensive players in second round, I know WR Quick was the first pick of the second round and think we got a RB a bit later on in that round.
With a 2-14 season, everything really needs a bit of a lift. Although our main players like Bradford, S.Jackson and Amendola were injured for quite a while last season which doesn't help our offence much, putting more pressure on the defence. Going to be an interesting few seasons now with a lot of players added this off-season and a new coach and two first round picks in the next two seasons.

Also more players for Saints getting suspended, Vilma for the whole season!

I hear the CB's have potential to be pretty good and the RB the Rams drafted could be an every down back once Jackson is done.

I think the Skins did okay, although their pick in the 4th of Cousins at QB is odd, but Shannahan said he was too god to leave that far in. I know Cousins was the 5th ranked QB, the other 4 went in the first, so he could theoretically be a 1st round QB if it had gone slightly different.
