New NFL Season 2011

Is he cut now?

Real shame that I thought they would have tried to renogiate and get him to hang round for a year or two to help with the new guys transition.

they have parted company.

I think it is probably best for both parties really. As much as Payton put indi on the map he is in the twilight of his career and he is still questionable if he is fully healthy after his neck surgery.

Plus with a hefty price tag of $28 mil/year it is a risk. Where as Andrew Luck is a risk at the moment (although has proved himself in the NCAA and is pretty much a nfl quarterback by all accounts) but if he is as good as they say he is, then Indi could have the next manning, brady or rogers for the next 10+ years.

I expect Manning to go to another dome and it seems arizona is probably the place to go for him and with fitzgerald he has a monster of a wide receiver.

I just hope that Manning doesn't do a favre and prolong his career when he knows he is not good enough to play the game anymore at the usual high level he has done in the past.

It is a sad thing for Indi and their fans but I think they will have some exciting years ahead of them. Hopefully they will build a successful team around which ever qb they get but i expect next season to be a year of rebuilding. Not as bad as this year but i think they will be lucky to have an 8-8 season.

I think the same thing will happen when Brady finally leaves the pat's. But I am guessing that Belichick has that covered.

I guess it is now time to wait until the trade window opens and then the draft in april.

So anyone else going to the international game this year, i have been to the last 3 years and can't wait.

He's still not 100% and well they avoid paying him a nice fat bonus ($30 million I think ?).
think they also get draft picks so its sucks to be Peyton, he generally looked like he wanted to say at Indianapolis from press conference

That Rams/Skins trade is mental, but when you're getting a franchise QB like RG III, dayum. I wonder if the Rams will still have Blackmon on the board.

As a Titans fan I don't care providing the pass rush is addressed.

When you consider what the Raiders gave for Carson Palmer, the Skins deal looks reasonable. As a Skins fan, I'm hoping it works out for both teams (my mate is a Rams fan)

The Rams could possibly now trade a pick or two to move up to secure Blackmon...

Just need to get him some big guns to throw to, Vincent Jackson is one the WR's we gonna go at hard think it's 5 year $55m plus think we looking at Mario Williams or Finnegan.
Could still pick up Kyle Orton in FA too sure up the depth, can't be rolling with Sexy Rexy or Beck any longer.

Gonna take us another year or two but we are definitely headed in the right direction.

Hail skins!

I think the Giants paid a lot more to acquire Eli Manning from the Saints.

It is a lot of picks we give up to get RG3 but if we waited and started Rex Grossman/Beck for another season it would make it extremely hard for us to lure WR's like Vincent Jackson and other offensive weapons in free agency.

Either way you look at it come 2013 we'd still be looking for that Franchise QB, if RG3 fails it would cost Shanny his job no doubt but if it pans out then the Skins look like Geniuses.

Have you seen we've (Skins) been done by the league for front loading contracts. We've lost $36m from our cap in the next couple of years :(

Yeah read about it but this seems to be a Collusion between the NFL and the rest of the other 30 teams involved.

This is what our GM Bruce Allen wrote yesterday

The following is a statement from general manager Bruce Allen regarding media reports of salary cap adjustments:

“The Washington Redskins have received no written documentation from the NFL concerning adjustments to the team salary cap in 2012 as reported in various media outlets.

"Every contract entered into by the club during the applicable periods complied with the 2010 and 2011 collective bargaining agreements and, in fact, were approved by the NFL commissioner’s office.

"We look forward to free agency, the draft and the coming football season."

So according to that we've done nothing wrong and will try and go at this Free Agency hard.

Yeah, we need an elite receiver, not more 'good' receivers.

Yeah, We're pursuing Eddie Royal and I think we've just signed Josh Morgan. We getting RG3 all the weapons, be a fast offense!

Glad we re-signed Adam Carriker, our D looking a lot better. Dunno if we gonna re-sign London Fletcher he wants a big contract and he's not getting any younger, he's gonna test the market and who knows he might end up back here.

I am happy with Pierre Garçon but $21m guaranteed thats a lot!!

Vincent Jackson deal in Tampa: 5 yrs, $55.55 million, including $26 million guaranteed, $36 million in 1st 3 yrs, $26 million in 1st 2 yrs.

Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

$42.5m for Garcon is HILARIOUS. Snyder is retarded and just drove up the value of VJax/Wayne/Meachem.

Mario Williams is gonna get PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAID

Well we would have signed VJAX if that Ronald McDonald looking mofo Roger Goodell didn't **** us on our cap, as we clearly didn't do anything wrong just the rest of the teams moaning because their front offices weren't as clever with their money.

It's a hell of a lot of money for Garcon but doesn't matter to me because we're slowing becoming a much much better team.

Snyder retarded? He has overpaid for players for many years nothing new at all.
