I reinstalled this again and I'm actually enjoying it this time. Can anyone recommend some custom servers? I would like it to be close to vanilla (no traders, based building etc).
Just wanted a bit more loot maybe stamina upgrade?

Is there any news on a Dayz 2 in the works? Surely they'll keep it quiet till they can say some rubbish about using a new engine which will eradicate some of the main issues they had in the first one. The new engine is kinda half used in current DayZ already.. From Bohemia's 'About DayZ'...

As for your question you'll struggle to find a decent custom server without base building etc.
Here's my overall recommendations that we play depending on our mood.
1) Aftermath - Cherno/Deer Isle/Livonia [ Has a trader and base building, but the group system and map and a great community make this one of my most played community servers ]
2) Deathproof - Namalsk [ No trader, and limited base building, group system and a map but it's very heavy PVP, yet I've had the most fun and it's VERY atmospheric ]
3) Karmakrew - Alteria [ No Bases, No trader. But also no group system on map. This is closest to Vanilla but it's hardcore survival without the group system. Having to find clothes to cut up for arm bands so you know who is who. I don't like this one, but one of my mate enjoys it a lot
