Yeah, would 27" 1080p 144Hz look ok?

I think so, I've seen one and it looked good to me (though I havn't seena 24" 144hz monitor.
he's purchasing a 780Ti, will handle 1440p no?

A Ti would handle 1440p but I think 4k is (and will be) better value for money when they start becoming more mainstream.
How about a boring red/black build
1440p monitor with the nicest case (imo) on the market right now. You just need to add a mouse/keyboard to the mix.

Add KB+Mouse (£100) and An OS (£75) and you're a little overbudget.
I also specced mine to allow 780ti SLI (mad I know) but 850w won't be enough to handle that really (on the limit).
Im not sure why, but I really don't like the look of the Primo. The Original Enthoo was/is one of the best looking cases ever though.
EDIT: also no OCUK Mouse mat or Mug.
