New PS3 exclusive will be announced on the 10th - lastofus.com

Looks like I was spot on then. :p

The 'mindblowing graphics' and PS3 exclusivity gave it away for me, Naughty Dog are the only developers really able to get the most out of PS3, they are definitely old school in their ability to continually keep pushing the boundaries.

Of course it's a bonus that their games rock too. :)

I was trying not to get excited about this but after seeing the trailer and the fact that Naughty Dog are making it it's no doubt going to be a day 1 purchase.

If the game does indeed look like that in the final game, I guess it shows that there is still some life in the current gen consoles.

that is not in game footage in the sense, that you are not playing the game, it is one of those cut scenes / videos that are played in between game play, those videos tend to look a lot better than in game footage, in most cases they look nothing alike as the quality is so much higher in the cut scenes.

their is much more power left in the cell cpu, the problem is that the ps3 has so little memory, which cripples the cpu and graphics card essentially.

Read what they do with U2 and U3 then you will have an idea of what it will look like, read my above posts. Its in engine rather than in game, using the same assets as the game uses, look at U3 you cant tell much difference between cutscene and ingame models.

Id say Santa Monica more than Naughty Dog regards the manual - though ND have probably done more with it ;). Dont one of them go down to machine code level for some of their efficiencies or have I made that up?

I think some people are getting confused between "gameplay" and "in-game". Also I'm slightly worried about something, mainly what the actual gameplay will be like. I don't want this to be Uncharted with infected, I really hope it isn't that sort of game as it works brilliantly for Uncharted and those games are amongst the best I've played from any generation but I wouldn't want this to be the same type of thing.

this

any decent game by any decent developer would be on both consoles, because why limit your target market? unless the company can afford to pay more for exclusivity than sales would generate on the other console.

the only exception to this rule so far have been

Halo, Gears of War and Gran Turismo, i think.

in fact i have already guessed the game

Metal Gear Solid or Resident Evil, they are ps exclusives are they not?

You're kidding right.

To name but a few: Uncharted, Spyro, Rachet & Clank, early Tomb Raider and Metal Gear Solid, as well as the hundreds of PC exclusives which aren't on any console. That's limiting the market a lot more than appearing on 1 console, don't you think?

Why is it that this game looks amazing yet ports like Skyrim look like utter **** on the PS3?

Lack of effort basically, Xbox is easy to programme for because it's not much different to a PC.

So most multiplatform developers are just programming around those two platforms and then porting it over to PS3 with unoptimised code and then patching it up to be PS3-friendly the best they can.

then why haven't sony designed the ps3 to be easy for developers to code?

could you not just code it in whatever language you want, convert it into binary then covert it again into whatever the ps3 uses?

that would be a much easier system to work with.

What in the same way I can put some French into Google Translate and convert it to a fully understandable and grammatical correct English sentence?

Wish I lived in your world - life would be so lovely without basic logic :p;)

EDIT: Actually that last sentence is harsh - so Ill retract that...
