New PSP design

It's a decent refresh I suppose but I think we all expected a different look. There's still no protection for the screen and I bet the screen still has a low response time. There's nothing here that makes me want to sell my original PSP and get one of these. You can already buy official batteries that last longer than the original PSP battery and I don't feel the need to play my PSP games on my TV.

i wouldn't buy it as an upgrade but if i was in the market for a new one i would be very interested.

by some of the rumours the main plus is a longer battery life.

When you can buy a Nintendo DS Lite for £66 then there's no surprise it's getting whooped.

The DS is a damn sight more fun as well.

To me this is kind of like the PSone and PStwo. Oooh, we can make it smaller and lighter.

Ninty's already done that, DS to DS Lite.

Spot the not impressed person.

Shame they haven't done anything to fix the ergonomics of it. A clamshell design would have been perfect but then they would probably get accused of ripping off the DS.

gonna trade my old one in later on
i think sony have got it spot on ,the original's design was ok they've just fixed the size and battery issue's
the ds needed much more work on it ,hence the re-design

The redesigned PSP makes games load faster. But, how? In a private demonstration with Joystiq, John Koller explained that the new PSP includes more than just good looks. The redesigned system also includes more RAM, which is used to increase the load speed of upcoming PSP titles. In addition, the system has much more efficient battery life. Koller promised between 8 to 10 hours of battery life in the new system, a seeming impossibility when remembering the original design.

Ive been waiting to get one to complement my PS3 glad i waited now.

So it's only faster load times on new games? That's a pity.

i suppose you are impressed with nintendo releasing a portable console and shortly after releasing an updated version which makes the original inferior(so you buy the newer version and generate more money for nintendo)
