Personally wouldnt say it was a failure - it may not have done as well as the PS2 etc and beaten the competition but its far from a failure

I think echochrome will be one of the first bigs steps towards this, as it is a PSP and PS3 title, should provide a lot of interconnectivity i hope :)
 
They worked well one the Dreamcasts VDU. I still remember taking my VDU with the PowerStone mini game on. I sometimes took the Sonic Adventure tamagochi-esque game too, but it wasn't as good :).

in what way has it failed ? ,very far from it , theyve sold bloody loads of them

why does it need original games , does the 360 have original games ? no but its still selling loads too

i admit there wasn't too many good games at the start but theres loads about now

im still not really a fan of it or the DS because handhold gaming doesnt really appeal to me anymore
 
Does the 360 have original games? IT does in the fact it has a lot of games that aren't on either of the other 2 consoles.

His point was that practically all the good PSP games are already on the PS2 and generally people who own a PSP will have owned, or still own a PS2, therefore have a good chance of already owning the games.

Ask most people what the best PSP games are and they will name the 2 GTA's straight away.

Sony stated it would revolutionise the handheld gaming market. That it would beat Nintendo on that front as well.
It didnt do either. In my eyes, it has failed.

It has indeed revolutionised handheld gaming - how else can you play 3d games in a such high quality whilst on the move. It was also never meant to compete against Nintendo - they both occupy different market segments.

Believe it or not, the PSP has more AAA titles than the DS, I had a wee look on IGN yesterday, the PSP has more games rated 9.0 or higher than the DS.

That said, apart from Ghouls and Ghosts, I dont play any game currently on my PSP.
 
I think the homebrew scene is another reason why the psp is successful, as the games index is larger than you could possibly imagine, covering nes, snes, megadrive etc. etc. Also official ps one emulation. Combined with powerful processing (for handheld), wifi, ps3 interconnetivity, its own disc format, etc. So its clear to see why it isnt really a failure. :)

I also think it looks pretty damn sexy tbh, i dont about comments on complete re-design etc. But like everything, there are flaws. Apart from jennifer love hewitt, id give her one.
 
The PSP's a fantastic gadget , I use mine all the time for watching movie from the memstick.
