New Recycling Bins

Our council refuse to offer us a wheelie bin, let alone recycling bins. When we were subsequently told off for putting rubbish in the collection area a few days early, they came and inspected our place and told us to use our fire escape to store the rubbish until collection day, as that can't be seen from the road. Very safe.

General waste wheelie bin - emptied once a fortnight
Recycling wheelie bin (paper/plastic bottles, food tins, drink cans but no glass) - emptied once a fortnight.
Garden waste wheelie bin is available for an extra charge, but being quite rural, we compost ;)

Works well :)

2 Black Bins - General Waste
1 Brown Bin - Plastic bottles, cans etc..
1 Blue Bin - Papaer waste Eg Newspapar, junk mails cardboard
1 Green Bin - Garden Waste

We have a box for glass that's kind of built in to the recycling bin, but is removable. Works well. So that's 1 Green Bin for general waste, 1 Blue Bin for recycling and 1 Brown Bin for Garden Waste. Only complaint would be that the general waste is collected every week, whereas the recycling is collected every two. It would be far better the other way round.

We have a large normal wheelie bin for general rubbish (which confusingly is green)
We also have a brown bin with a gray lid for paper/card/plastic/cans/tins/glass/(probably other things)

We only got the latter last week and it was our first collection today. I'd estimate that 80% of the street got it wrong, either putting out the wrong bin or putting out the right bin with just normal rubbish in (probably due to being unable to read the instructions in English in some cases)

red semi transparent bin bags posted through our letter box.

janitors take them away when we place them in our binshed simples! not a council refuge estate :D private WEEKLY collection :D

Black bin for normal rubbish
Green bin for garden waste
Small black box for paper & glass etc

And introducing a blue bin for plastics in the next few weeks.

Black box for cardboard and glass
Black box for paper waste
Brown lidded box for food waste (and a small bin kept in the kitchen which fills the large one)
Blue cube shaped sack for plastic, cans etc.

Black bin bag for everything else (mostly plastic bags tbh)

Recycling collected weekly, landfill collected fortnightly.

We've had this for well over a year and it surprises me the number of lazy gits that don't bother, just chucking all their stuff in the landfill bags.

Black bin - stuff hippies don't want to re-use.
Blue bin - stuff hippies want to re-use.
Grey bin - I have no idea what this is for and there doesn't seem to be a collection for it, but it's probably there because of hippies.

Black - General rubbish
Blue - All recyclable materials (glass, plastic, paper, etc)
Green - Garden Waste

Blue - All recyclable materials (glass, plastic, paper, etc)

My council doesn't allow glass in blue bins. The neighbouring council ten miles away allows glass in blue bins. They both go to the same storage facility before being shipped to a recycling facility.

It's stupid.

Green - general
Blue - recycling with a small paper caddy inside
Brown - garden/composting wate

we have
