Best you could hope for is a Blu-ray WTFOMGSPECIALEDITION re-release in all likelihood :(
Maybe a couple of independent cinemas like the Prince of Wales theatre in Leicester Square might do something. They had the Aliens Trilogy playing there a couple of months back for example.
BFI Imax do the odd retro film too.
 
It's piqued my interest, but there's no way it needed a remake/reboot.
I don't think the original looks dated at all, bar the ED209 stop motion sections.

I bet they turn this into an out and out action film, with no respect for the dark satire in the original.
 
I watched the original again last night. Its not as violent as I remember it! Still a good watch though. Made we went to have an 80's movie marathon!

This is looking more and more just like a man in a suit, thats it, a generic nothing stand out about it suit.
With a nice feminine jawline, and that suits is terrible, just a really bad design, their must be hundreds of better costume designers than what they came up for this!

Yes, they want the film to appeal to all the 'cool' kids; plus the word 'creep', was deemed too unfriendly for a nice family film. :/

lol watching the film again i remembered the sound of Robo's footsteps and a synth drum pad sound we had on a schools Casio keyboard.

The film is superb.. pure late 80s.

also... There's more hair... DOWN THERE!!!

every line in this film is iconic to me... 6000 SUX lol

It was a nigh on perfect scifi flick! If you can accept it's 25yrs old, it stills stands up well today!
 
Watched the original last night on netflix. Still stands the test of time. Murphys death still is still one of the most graphic and horrific IMO.

Anyone remember the TV version when Bob Mortons line "you are gonna be one bad mother ******" line gets changed to "you are gonna be one bad mother CRUSHER". LOL.
