Wow what a let down pg 13 first destroys the Terminator franchise then Total recall and now Robocop remake.Whats next Rambo,Madmax they wont finish until they are all kid friendly what a shame.

And the sad thing is that so many younger people today are so dumbed down and blinded by CGI that they think the new versions are better than the old, and some even go as far as saying the originals are ****...

I think it looks ok for a run of the mill action film. I can understand them changing things slightly but it looks like they have taken away essential bits of the story that made the original the classic that it is.

I've been following the progress of this film for some time and was really excited on news of the remake. I always feared this would be more dumbed downed version for the kiddies. Really sucks bad. :mad:

I remember watching robocop when it came out (I was only 9!) and it has been one of my favourite films, even robocop 2 was really good as well. Robocop 3 (back in 1993) was a pile of crap because of the non 18 cert and did not work.

I so wish they had taken the path of the new Dredd film as being adult based made it so refreshing to watch, more films need to be made like that.

This could have been so epic if done correctly and keeping the adult theme. Instead they are branching out the the mass market just to make more money. I will watch the new robocop but I know I'm going to feel underwhelmed and disappointed .

Big shame.

To me it looks like they used the Robocop story (or some of it) and then taken ideas from various other sources - and this gives a very strong Deus Ex:HR vibe in my opinion.

The brutality of Murphys death looks glossed over big time. Most of the best scenes will probably be replaced with heavy CGI action and no wit. With the PG-13 rating this is a fail.

'Bad' is a matter of opinion, just as 'good' is. The majority seem to share the opinion that this film looks bad. If you don't think this film looks bad, then fair enough. A friend of mine thinks that Alone in the Dark and In the Name of the King were actually quite good films. Maybe those films were not as bad as everyone else made them out to be. :/
