Think I might wait for daydream vr... I don't want to be locked into oculus ecosystem and it's a shame they are going that route, they always said they would go the right way - who ever was leading the direction. I think they got the software side wrong on that front.

Hi guys. Is there a way to download content without keeping the headset on? For example, Felix & Paul's 'Nomads'. Once I'm wearing the headset, there's four or five Nomad experiences to choose from, each of them quite a hefty size to download. I choose one and see the option to download it which is 1.9GB. Can I download that 1.9GB to my S6 before needing to wear the Gear VR?

No. Start the download and take the headset off, you should be fine.

enable gearvr developer mode and you can force a gearvr on mode which lets you do anything you like without putting it in the gearvr.

Thanks guys. I've got Developer Options enabled on my S6 but wil have a read through your link smilertoo to see how to enable Developer Mode for the Gear VR. It would be better to be able to download content without the phone being in the Gear VR so that I can still use the phone.

I know I've installed or updated apps having taken it out of the headset.

Ah, I misunderstood your original reply as you said start the download and then take the headset off, but I didn't realise you meant remove the phone from the headset too. I will try that!
