New samsung gear VR

What is the controller of choice for ease of use and high compatibility? I know they say the moga, steelseries and official but the moga and steelseries seem to not work with certain games and the official is like golddust.

Still tempted to just buy one of these for my s6, kind of want to try a vr experiance to help decide if i should work towards getting one of the bigger boys down the line!

I bought this Ipega PG- 9037 and it works really. Only cost me £17.99 new on the bay. Good weight, feels quality. Has worked with all games in VR that need a controller. It also has a pull up extendable arm in the centre if you just want to to mount the phone and play games without VR. However, with android games (outside of VR), the moga apparently has more extensive compatibility and I did find some games that mine didn't work with.

Can someone in the know link me to the right gear vr on the rainforest for example! Theres like 5 different versions! I have an s6 if that helps

Ta :)

Yep, you want the Consumer Edition, not the Innovator Edition. The first two links on the rainforest are the ones you want. Samsung Gear VR (SM-R322NZWABTU) one for £87.46 and one for 93.49. Visually, the front black protective visor should have 'Samsung' in small letters across the top in the centre. You don't want the one that has 'Gear VR' in large letters in the middle of the visor, that's the innovator. :)

Hello VR'ers - what anti-fog solution should I use?

I've read that most anti-fog liquids are designed for glasses/lens etc and shouldn't be used on the plastic lens of the Gear VR?

Thanks.

Thanks still hovering over the buy button, not sure!!

Okay so I've been trying out the Gear VR today, downloaded some free stuff via the oculus app. It is amazing! Have you guys tried the Jurassic World clip where that huge sleeping dinosaur wakes up and comes right in your face!? I can imagine watching a horror movie and something is stood behind you :p Seriously though, the clarity isn't there yet but it still tricked my senses. I played temple run VR for a few minutes, made me feel nauseous, I had to lie down for a bit :/ I also have the clip of Barcelona playing, just wow! Amazing technology which is only going to get better and better.

How do the £500+ dedicated VR kits compare to the Gear VR?

Barely used mine since getting it, just feels unfinished and too low res to really be immersive. Anything that i could get for it to change my mind?

I doubt it. Nothing will up the res.

I think it's rather a Martmite thing. You love it or you don't...

I've not used mine a great deal after the second week, but that doesn't mean I don't think it's amazing.

I'll pass on that if it's OK, but whatever does it for you. :p

But yeah, VR, while pixelated at the moment, looks great. I don't have the Gear VR (I bought a £12 Bobovr Z3 to get an idea with my 6P and frankly it's great value) but even in its infancy VR looks like great fun.

There's some not-insignificant difficulties to overcome. Hopefully an adaptive form of 4K resolution for VR (is that one of the reasons for the 4K screen on the Z5 Premium?) and a slimmer, less of a brick on the front of you face look (perhaps the G5 glasses?), but it's going to be really interesting where the next few years takes us.

Obviously movies and AAA gaming will lead the way due to their staggering budgets, but you just know there's going to be something coming out of left field that nobody has imagined yet that's going to change the way we do something or other. There are exciting times ahead with AR and VR. I don't think phones will be the thing (perhaps they'll provide the power, but that's it), but it's great to get a sense of how things might shape up.
