** NEW SAMSUNG ODYSSEY G7/G9 MONITORS 27-49" AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER **

Yes, I don’t get why fisheye would be a reason not to get the G9 - there are plenty of other reasons but for me that isn't one of them. It will ultimately be addressed by more general ultrawide support, or worst case you run it on a different aspect ratio.

I had that issue with mine. That was the biggest annoyance for me. More than the light leak
Yeah, it's my biggest annoyance too. It's not even that it just fades away at the bottom slightly, but for about 2cm or 3cm above it across the full width, there is a slight discolouration. The discolouration is so slight that I don't notice it unless it is a white screen, but it is really annoying. I know I'm going to need to return it, but I figure the longer I keep hold of it (up to the 30 day limit), the higher the chance that I won't be waiting too long for one that shouldn't have the same set of issues. Basically, my plan is to keep it for about 3 weeks, return it for a refund and then go on the waiting list again. I guess I could put myself on the waiting list now for another one and then send this one back when I've had it for 3 weeks.

I returned mine and went for the LG 38" instead - VERY happy with it

I have a 32'' (N6 in the serial number FB02) with v minor flickering in some game loading screens. Otherwise it seems awesome so far, no dead pixels, no light bleed, etc.

I'm wondering if there are any 32'' that don't ever flicker? Granted, I haven't gone through the whole thread here. I don't know if I should keep it or try another one (possibly newer version) that might not flicker at all.

If anyone knows, please help. Cheers.

In the same position as you, monitor is fine apart from flicker in game loading screens. I thought about returning it and then decided against it for the timebeing, with the situation in the world I figure better to stick with an inconsequential problem rather than change it for other possibly bigger issues or supply problems. The monitor is great assides the one issue so will carry on with it and see how updates go.

First post, been hanging around in the background for many years.

I just updated the latest NVIDIA GPU drivers and now I've got screen flicker on my G9 when variable refresh rate is on. Just be warned you may also see this when you update

I also updated Nvidia driver to 456.38 but there no difference in flicker. One thing that changed is the fact that for the 32'' model it now says in the nvidia control panel that it's not validated as g-sync compatible. The 27'' is still fine. Probably just a bug.

So, I received my G9 a couple weeks ago right before I went away. I've just started using it last night properly. I do love it but... I have about a 3inch white gap at the top on the left hand side :( Now I can live with this however is does something else that's really annoying. It makes like a tapping sound at the bottom edges. Its hard to describe but its like someone is tapping periodically on the edges of the display. I can reproduce the sound if I apply light pressure on the bottom corners of the display. It also does it after I turn it off and I can hear it when trying to go to sleep as my desk is near my bed. It is also really distracting while just browsing the web or doing something with out sound.
Anyone else have this issue with the clicking/tapping?

Sounds like you have a June model?

Mine had the periodic popping sound, a single dead pixel and the well documented light bleeding through the frame.

I didn't particularly like the vendor despite they did refund me but I sensed a battle on the next attempt.

So I never replaced and got the money back. I have another on order from a large place with an impeccable returns policy but no replacement yet.

Place I bought mine from could only offer a refund as they weren't sure when new stock would be in. Plus, they aren't stocking the item right now which says a lot.

I do have an order in at another place and that should be with me by the end of next week. Similar to Colin it's from a big big big online store.

I wish that store would confirm a del date for me :(

I spoke to them over chat and they contacted their internal team (whoever that is) and the next day I received an email from them with 24th September as the delivery date.

Might be worth contacting them and seeing if they can update you. I ordered mine on Monday afternoon if that helps.

I live in Greece and I got word that my pre order (from July) was in about a month ago.

I didn’t care to receive it and cancelled the order.

Last week I happened to be in a big store where they told me that they had one in stock.

I checked the box, it was a July model and the carton was in really bad condition (original tape was removed and a new one was applied over really badly / you could actually see inside the box).

Since I know the retailer, I am 99% sure that this was not a return from another Greek customer but most probably a rechecked unit from Samsung itself.

Obviously I didn’t bother to check it (although I could return it).

It is really a same how Samsung treats their customers.

But since people continue to buy their faulty units (and I am not referring to the light bleed only but also to the fading at the bottom of the screen which I suspect that most units suffer from (but not many people noticed a or care about it) / maybe this should be added to the Excel sheet), there is little hope that they will care to fix them.
