New SFF Build - Sugo Or Shuttle??

my maiden post on OCUK.. yay
anyway having finally settled in London, and signed up at OCUK, I want to set up a box.
I have done some reading and the G-O seems to be

Sugo SG01 Black
ASrock Conroe945G-DVI
E6300
2gb RAM

i was thinking a 512MB XFX7950, i am an occasional pc gamer, since i have an 360 now, though i if i can get by on something cheaper all the better.
No idea whats happening with RAM nowadays, so recommend me something along with
DVD burner
PSU
Keyboard combo
wireless LAN adapter
and anything else to make me a sexy sff system.

cheers

Jon

got a Sugo, and Zalman 8000 Cooler in MM at the moment, but you probably dont have access to there yet ;-)

thats a bummer, what about listing your specs out and what you would have changed with what you know now.

Theres nothing wrong with the Sugo itself, but from the bulk of posts in here, it appears most people building them are looking to overclock them and there really aren't any mATX motherboards out at the moment that do the current core2duo chips justice :(.

By that I mean overclocking to 400fsb is not uncommon for a core2duo, and there are very few boards that get much over 300 without stability issues.

I already have a mobile cpu Sugo rig, and wanted to do something special with a core2duo but I couldn't, so sold it and went for a mid tower Lian Li.

Obviously if you dont want to overclock there is still plenty that the Sugo mATX option offers you.

trust account? not quite sure what you mean by that but i have provided my email being one of the prerequisites for signing up.
i am aware of the lack of performance boards, and i suppose would be happy with a small oc just for the sake of it, while we wait for the manufacturers to lift their game.
more so looking for specs for a mid range machine which probably going to be mostly used for watching xvids on my DELL 2405.

at the botom of each post (next to the edit button) is a button marked [Trust] - when you set this up it allows users to see an email address for you and it is a repositry for comments detailing deals you have done on the forum - users often refer to it as a trust rating (similar to ebay's feedback system)

not sure if this is permitted, but what would stop me from ordering parts from the US? Everything is really overpriced here.
sorted my trust button

Shuttle all the way.
No it's not pricey, if you take into consideration you get a really good mobo and PSU included, the cable system couldn't be easier.... and it's sexy as me :D

Nothing to stop you at all, you will get a customs bill for VAT if you make expensive purchases, and of course you have to pay the postage back to the US if you RMA something so support may be expensive.

I am still leaning towards a sugo, just for the upgradeability. will probably make a purchase tomorrow.

edit: If i was to go shuttle, where is the best place to get it? OCUK does not appear to carry them.

Just my 2p worth...

I had an Antec Aria a while back (running a 2.4GHz woody & a 9700Pro) the massive problem i found was lack of air flow from the front of the case.
I ended up making a custom front panel with 2 80mm fans on the front which solved the problem.

I've just had the City Link bloke turn up and drop off a Lian Li v300 :D
Which has the 2 x 80's @ the front, seems to be an impressive case so far, just gotta drop my Core Duo stuff in along with my nice new shiney 8800GTS 320MB.
