New Shiny GPU's Coming Soon - Ordering Process to guarantee highest queue position

Never preordered a gpu before but is it just me that finds it odd to preorder something you don’t know the price of?

Is it a matter of getting a spot in the queue, then deciding after the price is revealed whether you want to go ahead or not.

You’ll preorder it for a price, paid at the point of pre-order.

Set yourself a price limit in your mind for two skus you like IMO if you *really* want to be day 1. When they get released you'll have 1-2 minutes max to order.

Edit: For the 5090. Unsure of the demand for the 5080, hard to judge.

plenty of reports of MSRP AIB cards being a thing this year. Thats nice.
Contractually all AIBs have to launch with a mrsp card at least. It's been the same for every recent generation I can remember.

Oooo that’s interesting … I wonder if that means that ASUS are releasing a 5090 ‘prime’ (their ‘budget’ brand for the 50 series) as their cheapest 5090. I consulted Google…

I'd suggest to also have someone look over your shoulder to call you out on your BS when you frantically try to rationalize exceeding your price limit.
