Hi, i cant play any of the stalker games i brought 2day, they keep crashing, keep getting: xrengine.exe ( Clear sky) has stop working and xr_3da.exe (shadow of chernobyl), im running window 7 64bit

My GTA4 working fine i got yesterday

Help pls?

Well im kind of glad the deals are rubbish (imo) today, saves me a few pound for some extra goodies in January sales

Been playing beyond good & evil, brilliant so far, loving it.

Just a bit of info that might be useful, at first i was getting flickering images and artifacts all over screen (quite common apparently), quick google later and i found a fix and it now works great.

Locate your BG&E folder,(....\Steam\steamapps\common\beyond good and evil), run settingsapplication.exe, go to advanced tab, check manual compatibility settings and then uncheck triple buffering, hw vertex processing, and fastflip.

Awesome game - vastly underrated! One of the few games I got a bit obsessed about, got all the animal photos in the end and refused to send em off for cash unless I was real happy with them. The smuggler caves were awesome as well, and the dungeons were great - Damnit, now I've gotta go reinstall it

It really is an awesome game and is worth more like £10 at least

I bought it and yeah, it is very demanding on my machine too. Screen Space Ambient Occlusion brings the framerate to its knees but even with that off, it is still demanding and I see sub 30fps in places. The textures look very low res and blocky too, a bit like running Doom III on the lowest settings :confused:

Although Doom III would run like poo through a goose on my machine.

Is this how it looks and runs for you?

I see also you get a letterbox unless you run on a 16:9 screen, mine is 16:10.

I may try running it at lower than native resolution to see if that helps :/

There's something up with that, I've just loaded it up to have a look, those floor textures in particular look waaay too blurry compared to mine. Where does it save the damn screenshots anyway?

Bought GTA4 on the 23rd during the offer period and its STILL downloading. The bandwidth is absolutely shocking.

Not sure why people are having such bandwidth issues unless it's certain games being hammered more than others?

yeah gta was a pig to get to download cause is believe it was gettting hammered so hard

still got mine in about 12 hrs on 20mb

I've got the full 6.2MB/sec bandwidth here with no drops, constant data stream, regardless of downloading 1 game at a time or 3

I recently downloaded GTA4, S:SoC and Serious Sam HD at full speed, i love my virgin

Exactly the same, its downloading at 100kb/s, which is just absolutely shocking for 2009. Tried different download servers all round the world, singapore was the quickest i found. Nightmare.
