Exactly the same, its downloading at 100kb/s, which is just absolutely shocking for 2009. Tried different download servers all round the world, singapore was the quickest i found. Nightmare.

To be fair to Steam, they are almost certainly under massive strain at the moment (and their hosting providers are probably either watching the bandwidth climbing and possibly worrying, or grinning), there are potentially hundreds of thousands of people who have bought games off them in the couple of days, and are currently downloading
Potentially they could be transferring many terabytes of data a day at the moment (I suspect it's a lot more, as 1000x mirrors edge or mass effect is about a terrabyte).

Bought GTA4 on the 23rd during the offer period and its STILL downloading. The bandwidth is absolutely shocking.

I'm currently pulling 1.1MB from Steam at the moment but if I was pulling 100KB/s I wouldn't complain too much!

That happened to me but I fixed it - is there an error message?

it loads up the splash screen, then a tiny window pops up, and it says not responding.

tried numerous fixes on the steam forum, and was left with it saying"game unavailable" even when i undid the changes.

ended up deleting the local content, assumed its something todo with my ATI drivers even though i updated them.
may try reinstall it when i upgrade my computer.
which is lame as i was looking forward to it for ages.

If we say an average of 15GB/s over a 24 hour period...

900GB a minute
54,000GB an hour
1,296,000GB a day

Basically, almost 1.24 Petabytes transferred in a day. That is a huge amount of data.
