NEW STEAM DEALS!!!!

Is Day of Defeat source popular enough to warrant a purchase? I know it's only £1.50 but I'd rather it not be £1.50 wasted if there's FA playing it.

Yeah there's still a significant player base, I still play it from time to time - great for quick blasts! :)

Day of Defeat Source is a MUST for anyone who hasnt got it, the most frantic FPS shooter out there!! well worth the dosh and lots of active servers ..

Hope we see Sid Meiers RailRoads reduced to silly money soon, was a classic game of which I cant find my original disc's :(

I never had mouse lag with Dead Space - must have been one of the lucky ones though 5 minis into it I did change to use a XBox 360 gamepad and then use the mouse for the asteroid scenes.

Beyond Good & Evil is a great game. One of the most underated games ever. Well worth £2.50.

The low sales were for the PC version....They sold 1.4 million copys of dead space worldwide including the Console sales..;)

Ah, so I'm guessing a majority of people bought the console version rather than the PC one. Its also worth noting that Dead Space had little to no PC marketing so you've got to ask just how many people knew it had been released.

I only picked it up after seeing people rave about it on here, others wouldn't have that privilege.

Still, I daresay they broke the 2 million mark overall which isn't too bad. Aren't the sales figures for Borderlands somewhat similar? Both new IP's, both multiplatform, both released first on the consoles ;).

five fricking days it took me to download GTA4, lol. Seems to run much better on my faster system, though need to crank it down a little.

Most people consider it fine after that but for some of us, it's still unbearable. Which is why I never played Dead Space (or Ghostbusters or Red Faction Guerrilla.. the list goes on).

Have you ever considered its your mouse or mouse settings?

I've had no problems with either Red Faction or Dead Space.

Bought Dead Space but I'm going to buy a wired 360 controller before playing it because I can't seem to turn no matter how frantically I move the mouse (even on maximum sensitivity) while I'm walking/running. It's fine if I stand still, but I can't foresee myself enjoying the game as much if I have to stop moving to turn every few seconds. I didn't have this problem when I borrowed the PS3 version off a mate, so it definitely seems to be one of those games that plays better with a pad than KB/M.

Have You tryed this ???
You have to turn Vsync off to fix mouse lag.

Yeah I read that post earlier and turned it off as soon as the game loaded.

EDIT: Just tried with Vsync on -- it now allows me to turn while moving, but it feels absolutely horrible and I'm getting like 38fps (which is weird because shouldn't Vsync cap your fps to whatever your refresh rate is?) instead of 190fps.

Hmm...not much there to interest me. Thought about Dead Space, but I really really dont get on with third person shooters.

After reading another thread yesterday though, I tried the demo of Men of War. Rather liked it, reminded me of a computerised version of the Advanced Squad Leader "boardgame" by Avalon Hill. Wouldnt mind seeing that in todays offers.

cs:S was £3.50 a few weeks ago in a deal :p

Yeah I know, I never bothered then as I was in the grips of playing OFP2 and didn't feel the need to try anything new. (Have never played Counterstrike in any of its incarnations.)

Hearts of Iron just seems too in depth and boring to be worth buying. I do like that sort of thing, but that just looks too damned tedious.

The question is, do I risk getting Farcry2 at £9.99 now or wait hoping for better? hmmmmmm
