NEW STEAM DEALS!!!!

Will GTA IV even run on my computer? My specs:

E2180 @ 3GHz
2GB DDR2 memory
Radeon HD 3850 256MB
Windows XP 32-bit
1440x900 screen resolution (I don't use 1680x1050 because it's a struggle for my current GPU, lack of memory).

Does anyone know if you can gift your own steam registered email twice with a game and give yourself one copy and a friend the other?

So is it ok for me to do it this way or is it tied to the email address?

The THQ pack is about £10 more this time around but still well worth it to anyone with no more than a few of the games on their list, also to anyone who might miss it, get evil genius, i did for a laugh last time when it was about £1.75 and i have to say its actually a great little game, the voice acting and game play is quite entertaining and its a lot of fun if a little slow to progress at times! :D

Run, certainly. You'd probably have to use a lower than native resolution though, and run on low settings, to get playable framerates.

I have a Q6600, 9600GT 512MB and 4GB, my native res is 1680x1050 but I use 1280x800 to get a somewhat playable framerate (20-40 ish), with most things turned down to low or medium.

As long as you have a decent PC gta will run well and they have added the achievements to gfwl so i think the dlc is coming to the pc.
Got a dual core running at 3.7ghz with a 4890 GPU and 4GB of Ram but I think I'll pass. I remember how variable people's experiences were with the game early on with a variety of hardware types. Already played the console versions to death thanks to the DLC being better in all areas than stock GTA. For that price though, I can see it being quite hard to ignore.

So for the settings that I will be able to run it on, is it worth £4.99? I used to own it for 360 and completed it but sold it when my 360 died along with all of my other 360 games.

I would like to play it again but if it's going to look rubbish (or worse than the 360 version) I won't bother wasting my cash.

20FPS if you keep the view distance and detail distance below 20%.

You really need a quad-core to get the most out of the game.

Not true.I have almost 3 years old C2D E4400 clocked to 3ghz, 2gigs of ram and GTX 280, and the game runs perfectly in 1920*1200, everything to high or very high and sliders to 30,30,30,0. Average 30fps and it looks and runs great, much better than console version.

For this price, it is a MUST, just like Mirrror's Edge and Stalkers.

Also, the Void is amazing and quite cheap now.

Ive gone for Shadowgrounds, everything else i like the look of i can get cheaper else where or in second hand shops.
Most of the 'sale' games should be that price anyway.

It doesn't look too hot on those settings IMO. I expect you probably wouldn't be impressed compared to the 360 version.

£4.99 isn't a huge gamble though, why not try it and see.
