Games like CODMW2, Orange Box, Titan Quest e.t.c. is Steam integrated, Civ complete from Play.com might not be, plus, I just double checked and they do not have Colonisation on it (not that I'd play that tbh)

that's just a shortcut in the client. The way I suggested would hopefully work by the game being installed in the steam folder with the no cdYou can integrate any game into Steam.
Just add it as a 'non Steam game'.
I have had BF2 since 2005 and have always run it through Steam so you get the overlay and all that jazz.
