Anyone else not installed (downloaded) a lot of their games because they dont want to be kicked off their broadband connection for massively violating the fair usage agreement?

Holy crap Osmos is awesome! Been playing it for the last couple of hours in some sort of trance, simple but damn addictive! Wonderful visuals and music as well :)

Those bandwith limits sure are starting to suck and they never seem to get increased to keep up with current times.
I am with Zen and have recently switched to their 100GB offiice package from the 50GB pro package as i could not make do.

Anyway the only one i have bought in the holdiay sale was Killing Floor when it was £3.74. Been thinking about it for ages but at that price it was too good to miss.

Yep! I have a 30GB a month limit, and it's been pushed right to the limit :

Roll on January 1st :D

cant believe that people still have internet with montly limits.

many people don't have a choice. it all depends on what you have available where you live. if you can't get cable or a decent LLU isp such as o2/be then you're pretty much screwed. moving house for better broadband isn't a realistic option for most people. :p

Tried to do the mklink

Am I doing something stupid here? I'm running cmd as admin and I Cut and Paste the folder in to the C:\. Now there is no folder in the steam folder and I am doing

mklink /D E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\call of duty modern warfare 2 C:\call of duty modern warfare 2

Then I get the error

the syntax of the command is incorrect.

:(

I think it's because of the spaces, try putting the two paths in quotation marks like this:

mklink /D "E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\call of duty modern warfare 2" "C:\call of duty modern warfare 2"

Edit: Just checked, it is indeed because of the spaces so the quotation marks will make it work :)

Have a read here, might help.

Also, you might need to use a lowercase 'd' for the switch, or use the /j switch to link the folders. I think I used /j last time I used this command.

EDIT: See post above too.

 There's plenty that have no limits. Like sky.

Im over the fair usage with BT. Email saying they will throttle me between 5:00 and 12:00.

Load of ballacks really, they do that anyway..muhaha

If you phone up enough times complaining about the speed (or should I say lack of speed), they will eventually put you through to a UK based department that will unthrottle your connection until the next time you exceed FUP limits. This happened to me a few months ago due to downloading a few series of lost on itunes (70GB in a day and they weren't happy... oops)

I just wish option 3 had unlimited downloads off peak, dont mind the FUP during peak times. I have about 30gb of games waiting to download on steam.
