New syndicate game? (Project Redlime)

ahhh man!!! I really hope they dont mess this up. Syndicate was an amazing game, as was american revolt. Although revolt was incredibly difficult.

I hope they dont make a mess of this, or make it too easy and short.

Yea I must have been too young too for the humour :( - doesnt anyone remember syndicate wars? - was rather crap compared to the original.

I loved the way your victims wouldn't stop shaking until you stopped firing your mini gun at them (yeah, total waste of bullets :)) I've got the sequel Syndicate Wars on the shelf, but never bothered installing after the bother I had with another Dos game, Magic Carpet 2.

I'd kill for a Magic Carpet remake, wasted hours on those games.

Mildly illegal i know but I found a very good copy of syndicate that plays nice with dosbox. I've actually found it still rather entertaining to play.

and for:

I never really played the original games (too busy playing CIV and XCOM), anyone care to explain what was so good about them?

Think xcom, make it realtime rather than turn based when you're "in combat" and you have Syndicate. Add lots of random civilians and a VERY good variety of missions (not just "go kill the aliens you shot down") and you're pretty much there.

Syndicate was my favourite Amiga and 486 game. There were no flaws in it at all.

Syndicate Wars sucked though - linear missions took away one of the best aspects of the game... the ability to decide what order you conquered the world.
