New Top Gear (2011) BBC 2 8PM!

Quite enjoyed this episode, almost forgot to watch!
As usual I skipped the star in the car part, although caught that he was fastest.

The Atom sounded insane, enjoyed the race part of that segment. :D
The Yeti part was good to watch and I liked the 911 v Beetle ending.

It was the show I expected, no complaints from me.

Not the best of episodes but it kept me entertained for an hour. I make a brew when the star in a car part is on although neither me or the wife had any idea who he was and had to google and still have no idea who he is....?

showing my age then cos I had no idea who he was :o

its not an age thing, its more down to whether you like comedy or not.

He's been on Live at the Apollo, Michael Mcintyre's comedy roadshow.

He's been a guest on have i got news for you and 8 out of 10 cats and he's appeared at the Edinburgh Festival.

If you're watching the British Comedy Awards thats on TV now you'll see he's picked up an award this year

I was a bit disappointed with the Christmas specials this year so I began watching last night's episode with a slight sense of apprehension.

However, I shouldn't have worried because I thought it was great. It might not have been one of the all-time top-ten episodes but it was certainly on par with their usually high level of entertainment.

I genuinely think it's people becoming bored with the format, rather than the show dipping in quality. I was also surprised by the Yeti, seems like a really capable little car.

if you fancy a change have a watch of top gear Australia / US. I'm currently on series 3 of top gear oz and really enjoying it.

Apart from having no idea who any of the stars in the bog standard cars are, its great !

Just need to wait for my family in Oz to send me my next installment :)

Really enjoyed it - the Yeti looks capable and that was an entertaining and informative review :)

The only bit I would have preferred would have been a better piece on the 911 - there was potential for that to have been a classic

The yeti is a cool name too.

Husband: "Darling, I'm taking THE YETI"
Wife: "Hay gais! Get in my YETI!"

Cool episode, I wish they'd do more segments on other supercars from the likes of G-Power, Brabus and Top Secret/AMS etc!

Is there a repeat of this in HD? Dancing on ice has taken the front seat :(

Its called iPlayer

How LONG was that Skoda segment? It went on and on...

I thought it was really good, the helicopter bit was really cool, seeing a friggin helicopter landed on the roof of a car was just wow, great tv, and that segment doesn't just apply to a yeti, the was definite point to the segment, the are lots of cars out there that like the yeti are more practical than a maybach, have a better ride quality than a range rover and are better in the real world than a Ferrari.

I would love to own that Ferrari but I don't live on a racetrack, I live in a world of traffic and junctions and lights and I know the Ferrari wouldn't get me anywhere that much faster than my car yet it would be totally impractical, heavy on fuel and tiresome to drive. People may have also found the tatoo segment boring but it would have been a lot more boring if they had used science to convey the message about the ride quality.

Can see Yeti sales increasing from this week's TG alone as thousands of middle aged family men run to their nearest dealer :p

Not that that's a bad thing!
