New Top Gear (2011) BBC 2 8PM!

Funny really, Americans have been described as fat, stupid and unable to produce cars that go around corners since Top Gear began but when another country gets the same tongue in cheek banter/abuse it suddenly becomes a big deal. It isn't the joke that is offensive, its the blatant double standard.

Clarkson also metioned something along the lines of "I don't know what they do in this town ..... incest mostly .... "

Agreed, the show's insulted all sorts of nationalities, including the British. Hope the lawsuit falls flat on its face.
 
when reported on the today programme, Evan Davies put it every succinctly, are they mocking the people or are they mocking the stereo types?

frankly storm in teacup, and they can't see the joke, but it's all good publicity.

Was there any uproar after the classic time trial rally challenge episode? IIRC Clarkson made a comment about Majorca along the lines of:

"How can you have a rush hour in Majorca, nobody does anything. Wake up, throw a donkey off a roof, sit in a plastic chair and go to bed."
