New Top Gear (2011) BBC 2 8PM!

Next time I see Mr. Herbert I will ask him if he is The Stig.

Top Gear so far has been great! Sundays was brilliant.

Well a genuine looking comment on that Jalopnik link alluded to it being a well known british driver with F1 and other motorsport experience and he came to mind. However there's plenty of past and present British test drivers that it might be but I don't know any of them!

Hope Top Gear get a rollicking for their comments re: Mexicans and Mexican food

On top of that I'm going to be launching my own action because the Australian folks called us "nigels" and if I'm not mistaken ... "Brits" It's BRITISH!

Then again it'll get expensive. Maybe I'll just have a sense of humour instead.

I found it quite uncomfortable watching that part of the programme, it wasn't good natured "banter" at all, just plain offensive. I have Mexican friends and relatives and it was quite frankly embarassing.

It's an obvious stereotype much like the Aussies stereotyped us in the same show.

They probably did get a bit carried away with that discussion but it was hardly that offensive. They've said worse about our own population I'm sure. If anything I think it was set up to see if it would get any press.

In other news, all the Scots have red hair, wear kilts and eat babies. English people drink stella and morris dance while wearing a football strip of their choice. The French are plainly cheese eating surrender monkeys, everyone knows that.

I thought the initial joke was humerous, but they went a bit too far and it was slightly uncomfortable. I wasn't offended as such but it was a bit...excessive.

My thoughts too, Clarkson even seemd a bit uneasy at one point but carried it on, Hammond came off as speaking from the heart. Dosen't really take away from the fact it was a a brilliant show all in all.

meh whiney people always whine about anything, hopefully nothing will come of the complaint, tbh when I went to Mexico they were (outside the city) exactly like the stereotype anyway and their food doesn't just "look" like sick :P

Notice no Aussies have complained about the top gear crew insulting them? and no British people have complained about the insults the Aussies used about British people? :P

The relationship between the poms and the convicts is very different to that between the gringos and the beaners :p.

I'm certainly not one for clamping down on things like this, but I can understand how Mexican people may have been peed off by those comments.

Well your not Mexican (IIRC) so how would it offend you? :p

Top Gear makes fun of pretty much everything...for example, the car for a 17 year old challenge when clarkson calls the volvo a geography teachers car or in the American Road Trip special or the Bolivia special etc etc. :)
