I wish they did 1 sensible episode inbetween that still has the wittyness of the 3 presenters but a bit less mucking around, like in series 6ish-8ish.

Six episodes per series is pretty normal in the UK.

The IT crowd, for example, is 6 episodes per series, as is the inbetweeners etc....

It does totally suck, mind. Most American stuff is 20+ episodes long

I got into House MD late and i'm currently trying to catch up. At 24 episodes per series however its taking ages !

Yeh it's a shame, I don't think there would be enough content (or budget) to cover that many episodes! 8-10 episodes would be perfect.

Well it is 6 episodes, twice a year, plus they did the Christmas Specials. That is more like 14 @ 60mins an episode vs 24 @ 40mins.
